OCs. Gemma and Jeavon were once true loves. But that changed, and the only person who Gemma trusted, and could make her feel better, was Danny. But it could never be between them. Especially because they were both chosen as tributes for the Hunger Games. They will meet new people. They will get revenge. They will fight. May the odds be ever in their favour.

PART ONE

CHAPTER ONE

"Gemma!" Shouted Jeavon sympathetically. "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, honestly." He said this and rested his hand on her shoulder.
"Get off of me!" She retorted, slapping his hand away. Her face was filled with pain and hurt- pure heartbreak. Out of the blue, an angry Danny could be heard storming over to the scene.
"What did you do to her!?" Danny screamed, his voice breaking (for the first time). "She's in bits, you idiot!" He pushed Jeavon away in rage and held Gemma's hand while helping her up from the tangled mess of which she lay on the floor.

A crowd had gathered around them at this point, watching the ordeal. This didn't make anything better for Gemma. She wished she could just vanish on the spot; she wished she wasn't alive anymore. Danny grasped her hand harder, and guided her away from the crowd- away from Jeavon, who watched them foolishly from afar, not realising what he had done. Gemma supposed there was… perhaps a glimmer of hope with Danny.

"Gemma," Danny started, "I really like you. I can't stand seeing you like this anymore, even if you reject me, just know I'm always here, and I honestly love you." He told her, and she looked away.
"Oh Danny," Gemma said, in denial at first. "I don't think you understand the extent of what Jeavon meant to me. I mean, you're cute and all… but I've been with Jeavon for far too long and you know it could never be like that between us. It's far too soon to move on anyway." Gemma said with a tear in her eye, instantly regretting the words she had spoken when she saw Danny's face.
"But… Gemma, we could run away together!" He cried. Gemma shook her head.
"We can't run away from here, and you know that!" She shouted in despair.
"We don't have to be part of the games!" Danny said in desperation, but Gemma walked away.
Only later did Danny realise how ironic those words were.

A/N: Hi, Hannah and Holly here. Mostly Hannah. She wrote this, first fanfiction, lol! We know it's short, but it's just to start off the story. You probably won't understand how this is linked at all to The Hunger Games right now, but you will as the chapters progress. We hope we've grasped your attention ;)! Oh and they're all OCs. I know that sounds misleading but we just wanted to write this story for fun so… we'll 95% carry it on!
