Fire
"Someone, help
me!" I scream.
"Don't let him do it to me!"
I
struggle to free myself,
But to no avail.
My father forces me
to lay facedown,
Then turns and gets his knife.
My eyes widen
as he
Sticks it in the fire
To get it hot.
"No! Don't
do it!" I yell.
"Silence!" He snarls.
He takes
the knife-
Now burning hot-
And starts to carve on my back
The
Pharoah's memory.
I cry out in pain.
Before I slip into
unconsciousness,
I see the fire:
The fire-
Fire...
"You
idiot, you're wasting our life points!"
I yell at Yami
Bakura.
"They're my life points." He snarls.
"You
both lose!" My evil side laughs.
I scream as the shadows
rush over me.
Then I see my worst fear all around me-
Fire.
"No!"
I yell,
My eyes wide with fright.
The fire is right there-
So
close I could touch it.
It surrounds me.
My worst
fear-
Fire...
"No!" I bolt upright in
bed,
Breathing heavily.
"Marik!" Ishizu comes running
in,
A torch in her hand.
My eys widen when I see the fire
And
I shrink back against the wall.
Ishizu realizes what is wrong
And
hands the torch to Odion,
Who hurries out of the room with
it.
Ishizu kneels on my bed and gathers me close.
"Marik,
it's all right." She says softly.
"Make it go away."
I choke out.
"Marik, the...it's gone."
But the fire
isn't gone-
I close my eyes and see the fire;
I'll always see
it:
My worst fear-
Fire.
