Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man they say murdered three.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
The brunette girl looked up to the blond man she was crying. The man in the black clock was putting a lasso around the neck of her beloved blond. The blonde had done nothing wrong. She knew that.
"Come to me at midnight" She heard the man say.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out for his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
The blonde called to his brunet lover to run away to where he dare not say in front of the crowd around them as he was told the stool would soon disappear. The brunette cried as she nodded to her lover. I promise. Came her soft reply to the man she loved. He would be waiting and so would she.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run so we'd both be free.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
"Run, we'll be free together." I cried to her. I knew she would do as I asked. I loved her more than anything. That's why I was doing this… for her. "Stranger things have happened my love" I whispered before the stool was kicked out from under me and I fell, aching for breath.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
The brunette looked to the spot where a rope hung. The rope that helped kill her husband, her Ludwig. Feliciana wouldn't take this. She would go and be with him just as they had talked about. She took out the piece of rope from her pocket. The rope fit easily over her neck. "I'm coming love" She said as she took the rope and put it around her neck. She then turned a stool back over so she could stand on it. She tied the piece of rope around her neck to the piece hanging limply from the tree. She jumped and the clock struck midnight.
A/N Okay, so I must say this didn't turn out like I wanted it to. This was originally going to be a funny yoai filled Halloween story… at least that was my plan as I sat down to type this out. Then The Hanging Tree showed up on my list of songs for YouTube. I love the Hunger Games trilogy so I listened and suddenly I couldn't type anything. So here is a sad fic.. I almost cried righting this thing. Happy Halloween to you all. Updates should be coming soon! I just have to stop reading so much first. Night all.
