Til We Meet Again
Her smile spoke for her, she looked sickly, she looked pale, she looked like she was about to die, but that smile, it conveyed how she truly felt. She felt no pain, she felt only happiness.
Hapiness because the one she'd been waiting for, the one she'd cried over, loved and lost, was back and she was going to make sure he'd never leave her, them, again.
Helplessness soon coursed over her, forcing her to loosen her grip on happiness, for even though he was there, even though he was standing right there, she couldn't move. She couldn't reach out and hug him tight. She couldn't whisper into his hear that she wanted him to never leave, now that he was back, he could never leave.
He seemed to notice her predicament and he moved, or his feet moved of their own accord and in a few moments he was leaning over her.
"Sakura," just her name, he says just her name.
"Thank you." It's all she manages to whisper before she's gone, but she sees the ghost of an ironic smile play on his lips as worry cuts through his eyes.
Goodbye…
For now.
