This is a super short story that I wrote one morning (well, most of it was written that morning). It doesn't really have a plot, but rather reflects on feelings.

Be Mine

Some people thought it was unbelievable that they had gotten together. Others said it was cute. For Naruto it was a dream come true, and for Sakura it was finally finding true love. Their friends supported them, including Sasuke who was no longer a traitor of Konoha.

The fourth Shinobi world war had ended four years ago, and only a year ago had Naruto become Hokage. He was highly respected by everyone – even the people that had once hated him. The children often said that they wanted to be like him. They said he was strong, righteous and kind. The whole village loved the warmth and determination in Naruto's eyes. He made them feel safe.

Quite a few ladies had asked him out since the war had ended, one of them being Hyuuga Hinata. He had rejected them all though, and boy was he glad he did. A couple of months ago, Sakura confessed her love. It was a shy confession, and a slightly ashamed one. She didn't feel that she had the right to, not after having pinned after Sasuke for years. She also feared that he would think that it was only because he was the Hokage. He hadn't, luckily. Rather, he had shouted in joy, and swung her around.

It was a sweet love. They were really devoted to each other. However, they weren't the kind of couple that forget their friends, and only hang around each other. They often hung out with their friends. At least as often as a Hokage and jounins had time to. The most special moments, however, were the ones they spent alone with only each other.

Sometimes they went to Ichiraku to have the best ramen imaginable. When Sakura was fed up with that, they would go to her place, and she'd cook for him. She loved to see his pleased expression when eating her food. It made her feel like a housewife.

Some evenings they would just stroll around the village, hand in hand. This evening, however, was not an aimless walk in the village. This evening, Naruto had something different in mind. He led her up on the mountain with the Hokages' faces engraved.

"Look," he said, and pointed across the village. "This place was in utter chaos just a few years back. Before that, it was a village I hated, because of all the scornful looks. It is now safe, and I intend to protect this village with all that I've got." He turned to Sakura. "I've also fulfilled my goal. I'm the sixth Hokage. In addition to that," he took Sakura's hands in his, "I got you." A pink blush formed itself on Sakura's cheeks.

"Sakura, it doesn't have to happen right away, but please promise me one thing," he requested.

"What?" Sakura asked, her hands still in his, and her heart prepared to fulfil whatever he wished.

"One day, be my wife."

Sakura smiled. She lovingly caressed his cheek. She loved his honest blue eyes, his whiskers, his grin, and his arms that always made her feel secure and loved. There wasn't anything she wanted more than to be his wife.

"I will," she said, and hugged him – much like after the battle against Pain. This time, however, it wasn't because she was worried about him. It was because she was his.

The end.
