"Oi, Ulquiorra! Pinch, punch first day-"
Grimmjow easily dodged the cero that came flying at his head.
"- or not." He leaned into the slightly smoking cavern in the wall. 'It's Halloween, asshole."
Ulquiorra, writing at his desk, did not look up. "Halloween is a day, not a month."
"It's Halloween, and you know what that means." Grimmjow paused dramatically. "Costumes. What are you going as?"
Ulquiorra paused. He opened his mouth to speak.
"You're not going as batman again."
Ulquiorra shut his mouth and resumed writing.
Grimmjow sighed obnoxiously. "Get some fucking creativity, dude. I know you and Gin were all over that Joker+Batman combo last year but seriously, rehashing costumes is just lame." He straightened, and walked into Ulquiorra's room, plonking himself onto the bed. Ulquiorra stopped writing to shoot him a death glare, which was predictably ignored.
"Kurosaki's going as Naruto," Grimmjow said to the ceiling.
Ulquiorra's features curled just vaguely in disgust. "Does that mean the Quincy's going as-" "Yup."
The thought of Ishida dressed as Sasuke gave Ulquiorra mild nausea. Their voices matched almost identically though, what was up with that?
"Zommari's going as a pumpkin..."
"Why do you let him redo costumes?"
"He's carving it differently this year."
"..."
"Starrk's going as the Sandman," Grimmjow went on, sitting up. "And I'm pretty sure Aaroniero's going as a lava lamp."
"What are you going as, then?" said Ulquiorra.
Grimmjow grinned, catlike, showing all his teeth. "That's a surprise," he said as he got to his feet.
Ulquiorra scowled at his back as he exited. Great, now he had to find a costume better than Grimmjow's.
He glanced at his bed, and his scowl deepened. And he had to clean off that disgusting blue cat hair.
A/N: It's been 5 years since I last uploaded Bleach fic. In that time I have done... not a lot, really. Graduated high school and entered uni. Completed 3 NaNoWriMos. Watched even more anime. Written srs angsty fic, most of which remains unfinished. Attempted to start another FFdotnet account (linked to on my profile.) Spent 50% of my life on Homestuck, 50% on Tumblr, and the other 50% on Homestuck fanfic and art on Tumblr.
The last 5 years have taught me much, but one lesson stands out above them all, something that has withstood the test of time when even I had my doubts.
Espada crack is eternal.
