Aqua met ice and for a minute, all he could focus on was her.
Her eyes shone with happiness, and her red hair framed her face, which was that of a goddess. The intricate details of her expression showed confusion, and if he could look deeper, he knew she would be a little shocked to see him.
"Jack Frost."
Her murmur of wonder was music to his ears, like birdsong. He smiled a little at her.
And then, it all went too fast.
The red haired beauty was suddenly on the floor.
"You OK?" the white-haired spirit asked with a chuckle.
The girl nodded, scrambling to her feet.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," she said, straightening out her skirt. She smiled sheepishly at the boy, who just smirked. 'She's so cute,' he thought to himself, seeing a blush lightly dust the girl's cheeks. "Um...hi," she said.
"Hey," he said, leaning on his staff.
"S-Sorry I um...y-you...you're him," she stammered. The boy chuckled, looking at her.
"Yes, I'm the one and only Frost." He bowed and stood up, smirking at the girl in the process. "And you are?"
She giggled, obviously charmed. "Princess Anna."
Jack froze at the word 'princess', but then relaxed. "Sorry your Highness, I had no idea I was in the presence of royalty," he said.
"I'm sure you didn't, Mr Frost," she laughed.
"No need to call me that. Call me Jack," he said with a quick wink.
Anna stared before blushing. "S-Sorry for staring."
"I bet you get a lot of stares," the spirit said, leaning on his staff.
"Why would that be?" Anna asked, a little confused.
"Well," Jack started, "you're beautiful-no wait I uh haha um..."
As the winter spirit stumbled over his words, Anna couldn't help but giggle.
"Why thank you Jack."
Jack had gone completely red. "I uh...yeah. Well, I uh, should get going." He looked at her, and smiled. "See ya." He leapt into the air.
"Wait!" the princess exclaimed. He turned round. "Yes?"
"Call me Anna."
"Well, Anna, it was nice meeting you."
"And you too, Jack Frost."
Both of them smiled at each other, and then the winter spirit took off, riding on the wind.
