When Yami and Yugi take a vacation to Ontario, Canada, they meet one of the locals named Tèa, who Yami immediately falls for. But she hides a secret that no one must discover…or else.
It was a crisp, cold night in the city of Ontario, Canada, where a young woma wrapped in a cloak wanders through the streets. And as she observes her surroundings and sniffs the air, she can smell almost everything around her; food being cooked, coffee being brewed, and…human blood?
Not too far at the Canadian airport, two young boys had just stepped off the plane.
"Remind me again why we're here?" asked the shorter of the two twins.
"It's vacation, Yugi. Time for us to get away from the crazy city!"
"But isn't this…"
"What?"
"…the city?"
"Well, it's quieter here than back home. Come on."
Once at a hotel, they are unaware of the cloaked stranger lurking nearby.
"What do you wanna do first?"
"I was thinking we could explore."
"Why not buy some groceries then we could head to the bookstore?"
Yami Mutou, the taller of the two, nods. The stranger secretly follows.
Inside, the trio skims through various books, the stranger closeby. She tries to distract herself by reading. For her human side knew it was wrong to spy. She blended in with others just fine. No one knew of her secret. This would be no different…
Yes, you heard right. This stranger was no ordinary human. She was a lycan. A shapeshifter. A werewolf. Among others secretively, she was sure. But should anyone find out…it would be certain death. For it was their law: The Keeping.
"Hey, Yugi, check this out!" He holds up a magazine called Duelist Informer.
"Hey, the latest issue!" he smiles. "And your favorite!"
"Yeah!"
That's when he sees the human figure. "Hm?"
"Hm? What is it?"
"Look there." He points to the figure. As they look, the girl looks back and Yami gasps in awe. She had milk chocolate brown hair and eyes blue as crystals, her skin smooth and creamy. "Wow…She…she's beautiful…"
"Huh?" Yugi looks back at his brother, slightly surprised. "Yami?"
"Uh! Um…" He blushes a little.
As she watches them, she takes in the scent of the two boys: The older smelled of spices and cologne, the shorter one of strawberries. They also looked a lot alike, she noted.
"Um…miss?" She blinks and lifts her head slightly, showing he got her attention. "Are…are you alright?"
"Yes…Why wouldn't I be?"
"It's just…you act like you don't want anyone to notice you." She smiles and pulls back the hood. "Ohh…!"
"Is that better?" He smiles, making her chuckle. "It's chilly out, you know…I can understand it giving me that appearance." Not that we really feel it. The wolf within her chimed.
"Oh, that's understandable."
"Forgive me, but I can't help sensing you're new here. Tell me, what brings you to Ontario?"
"We're just on vacation is all."
"Have you been here long?"
"We just arrived today actually." Yugi chimes in.
"Just exploring right now."
"I see. Where are you staying?"
"At a hotel not too far from here."
"If you like, I could show you around."
"We'd like that!"
"Yeah!"
