E/O Challenge: Literal
A 300-word triabble by Amberdreams, Dizzo and Edina Clouds; not necessarily in that order!
Remember Me
It was literally seconds between Dean's poltergeist-driven nosedive down the staircase and Sam's panic-stricken arrival beside him.
"Dean," he yelled, placing a tentative hand on Dean's prone body, "Y'okay?"
It took a few moments, but eventually, with a breathless groan, Dean shakily eased himself up into Sam's supporting arms.
Concerned eyes scanned Dean's dirt-streaked face, taking in the blossoming bruise over his cheekbone, and a dark trickle of blood through his hairline.
"Hey, talk to me dude," he pleaded.
Dean squinted intently at him, mismatched pupils glimmering darkly as his dazed eyes slowly uncrossed. Then he talked.
"Who are you?"

"Quit fooling around, Dean. Come on, let's move," Sam slid his arm round Dean and raised him, wobbling wildly, to his feet.
"Wha's goin' on? Who's Dean?"
"It's you, dumbass."
"What's me?"
"Dean!"
"Where?"
Sam rolled his eyes. Concussion with memory loss was a literal pain. Just as well they'd finished off the poltergeist, because it was going to be a long night. He eased Dean into the shotgun seat, sprawled like an old drunk.
"You're Dean." Sam carried on before Dean could ask the obvious. "I'm Sam."
"Sam. Dean. Gotcha."
Dean's eyes fluttered shut.
Sam shook him.
"No sleeping!"

He so wanted to sleep but the sonovabitch driving the car wouldn't let him; kept shaking him to keep him awake.
"G'er'off me," he mumbled, trying to pull clear of his tormentor. "Lemme sleep."
"Not happening, dude."
Dean leant against the window, welcoming the coolness of the glass on his throbbing-head. He was still finding it difficult to remember; still trying to put "two-and-two-together" and literally not make five.
Until his driver coughed, desperately trying to hide the blood that stained his Kleenex.
And suddenly it all came flooding back.
"Sammy," he murmured, remembering because his little brother needed him.
