A/N: This takes place after Final Jam when Mitchie and Shane take their canoe ride.

Mitchie walked down to the lake planning on meeting Shane. When she didn't see him she sat down on the dock where they'd first met... or rather where he first met Mitchie. She waited for a little silently watching the water. She was in her own little world thinking about everything when someone, unbeknownst to her, came up behind her.
"Looking for me?" They whispered in her ear causing her to scream, jump up, then turn to see who it was.
"Shane!" She scolded smacking his arm, which he immediately began rubbing.
"Jeeze! It's was only a joke chill out." He said still nursing his soon to be bruised arm. She wanted to glare but couldn't stop the smile from forming on her face.
"Come on, Popstar." She said rolling her eyes and walking towards the canoes. He smiled and followed after her. She grabbed two life jackets as he flipped over the canoe and got it into the water. She handed one to him and climbed into the canoe after slipping her own on. He slid his on and climbed in after her.
"So you wanna try for straight or do circles again?" He asked smirking.
"Which one buys us more time?" She asked smiling. He simply widened his smile and handed her an ore. "So..?" Mitchie started but quickly turned it into trying to start a conversation. What she really wanted to ask was what he thought of his so called "mystery girl" now that he knew it was her.
"So, I'm just glad I found my 'mystery girl' before camp ended." Shane replied bringing up what he really wanted to talk about. Mitchie found herself blushing but quickly turned away to look at the water so he wouldn't see. Shane simply continued to watch her feeling ready to chicken out on what he wanted to do. When Mitchie looked back over she noticed him staring at her and felt the blush coming back.
"What?" She asked shyly and quietly. He only leaned in towards her more, so close she could now feel his breath against her lips. She felt her own breath catch in her through.
"What are you doing?" She asked barely above a whisper. Once again Shane didn't answer he simply moved his hand to face and lightly stroked her cheek before moving it up to her forehead and brushing her bangs away.
"Shane-" Mitchie began but never got to finish as Shane had closed the gap between them by covering her lips with his. At first Mitchie was shocked but easily relaxed into the kiss. Shane smiled into the kiss happy she wasn't fighting. He moved his hands to her waist and she moved hers to his neck. Unfortunately neither of them had realized a canoe in the middle of the lake was probably the worst place for a first kiss. Before long the entire balance in the canoe had been damaged and both tumbled into the lake. They came up laughing and Shane swam over to Mitchie wrapping his arms around her.
"I really, really like you Mitchie." He said barely above a whisper. This time it was Mitchie's turn not to answer she simply pulled him closer and kissed him. They broke apart this time to hear cheering from the shore. They looked over to see Caitlyn and Nate standing on the shore watching them. Shane and Mitchie both blushed but smiled at eachother.
