Differences in Stupidity
Gaara didn't do stupid things, except when he did. He knew licking sharp things was a little foolish, and aside from a curious because he had no reason to tell himself why he did it. Nobody ever asked him why he did anything, so really it was just his own curiosity wanting an answer. Because it was stupid, because it could hurt, because he could, because no one told him not to. Just a because was good enough for him.
Tenten didn't like stupid people, except when she did. They were annoying and vulnerable and just stupid. Sometimes stupid people were very strong and a little lost and confused; and she had always enjoyed teaching others. Neji didn't want a teacher or need direction, but he was stupid in his own way so sometimes Tenten only found him bothersome. But since he was stupid, she'd be near anyway.
Kiba was stupid, except when he wasn't. He missed the obvious things and was oblivious to the subtleties of almost anything; but what he did know was how to get along without all those useless and confusing things. And when it was really necessary, he was more than intelligent enough to act. If anybody ever called him on his naivete, he might actually admit to it.
Hinata believed in stupid things, except when she didn't. She didn't believe in fate, or things happening for a comprehensible reason or logic. Things happened because they must in order to keep the balance of the world, and balance didn't care one way or another how that was all accomplished; the ends always justified the means. This could only be accepted, and not understood nor changed. What she did understand was that by balancing her own life she could avoid the drastic measures balance would otherwise take. For her, one's worth was always measured by how it was created.
Life was not stupid. It weaved and meandered and got lost, died and was awakened again. It didn't like anything, nor dislike anything; it merely accepted everything, and kept going. Those who would follow the path were many, those would would create their own were few. And those who would make life out of their own...that was purely genius.
