Summary: One thing in Sam's life has always held true.
Dean might make out he didn't set any store by approval from anyone but their Dad, but Sam knew better.
A handful of other people's good opinion meant the world to his blustering big brother, whether he admitted it or not.
Caleb was admired for his prowess with bow and knife. Pastor Jim for his compassion and his warmth (something Dean would probably rather gouge his eyes out than acknowledge that he needed). Bobby for his gruff welcome every time the Winchesters landed amidst the other flotsam and jetsam of the scrapyard.
But always above all the rest was Sam.
