Chapter 1

[Draco]

Draco took a good look at the girl standing opposite him. Her hair was a lovely shade of brown and a little bushy … but he liked it. As the girl's big, brown eyes looked at him, her cheeks went bright pink. He stroked her cheek with his thumb and stared at her with the softest expression.

He leaned in and when his lips touched hers, Draco felt complete. His other hand found it's way to the small of her back, and he pulled her closer. Her hands were already in his blond hair, and her lips moved in synchronization with his.

When they finally broke apart he whispered; "Hermione." His light blue eyes looked into her with an immense intensity. She smiled up at him, then stretched on to her tip toes and kissed him one more time before she turned around and walked away.

They had been meeting like this for about two weeks now, bur Draco knew that if anyone found out about them, they were screwed. I mean, a pure blood and a muggleborn? Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy, would surely kill him if he knew.

Draco made his way down to the Slytherin common room in a daze. His thoughts were with the Gryffindor he had left in the deserted corridor.

"Hi Draco!" Pansy Parkinson called when she spotted him entering the common room. Draco knew very well that Pansy fancied him, but he honestly didn't care for her.

"Hello," Draco answered, his voice dripping of the Malfoy arrogance.

Draco's best friend, Blaise Zabini, came to his rescue by calling his name. "Draco," he said. "Come here for a minute, will you?"

As he took the seventeen steps (yes, he counted) that put him directly in front of Blaise, he drew his hand through his platinum blond hair. He could actually hear some of the girls sigh as he did so. He didn't care.

"What's up, Blaise?" Draco had very little patience left, and he just wanted to be alone.

"How come you're late?" Blaise question irritated Draco, and all he answered was; "It's not really any of you're business, Blaise. But put it this way … I was not alone." And with that, Draco walked away up to his dormitory, and as he passed Pansy, he could swear he heard her sob just a little.
