This night most animals stayed in their holes or dens, huddling up together with their loved ones. In fact, not simply animals did so...even demons did. Even those who no one expected would allow such a thing...
The inuyoukai was gazing down at the you girl in his arms, who now was safely cuddled up against his warm chest as she hid from the cold. If anyone had seen this, they would probably have died of shock since this particular demon was known to have a heart of ice. Especially against humans. So how did a young human girl end up in his lap? No one truly knows, not even the said demon. Even as he gently held her closer and looked gently down at her, he didn't understand. Still, somewhere deep down he knew it didnt matter why...just that she was. Just because nothing, especially his cold style, was worth the cost of Rins life. So he would protect her...even from the meager elements of the seasons. After all, he went to hell for her...so he had surpassed the limit by far. So, what is it to ponder? He knew all he needed...and thats enough. She was enough.
