This is my first attempt at something like this and it just came out. So tell me what you think I guess. I hope you enjoy this.
dislaimer: I do not own Pokemon.
P.S. Bittersweet Romanticide is writing a story about... er you have to read it. Anyway, this is not taken from that story. This just popped into my head randomly, so please don't be mad.
She paused and pulled softly at her hair.
"Sometimes I think they're alive… I hear their voices in my head."
The butler stiffened as he watched the young girl play with the box of what one may see as puzzle pieces she had received from an unknown source.
"Sometimes…" she turned her gaze to him and despite the fact that she was just a little girl, he felt himself shiver. Her tone reduced to thoughtful and contemplative, scaring him. "… I wish I could just be alone with them." She almost hissed the sentence, but softly as if she were under a spell.
He turned his gaze from her and looked strait ahead as he usually did.
"Sometimes I wish… they were all just gone and would leave me alone."
He felt the air harden with her resolve and she hissed quietly in an undertone as if to get the point through to him. "Sometimes I wish you weren't here."
He turned to her and nodded softly, then quickly changed his direction and left through the door. Once outside, he let out a breath and leaned against the door. He had known the girl since she was a child and never had he known her to behave the way she did now. Her parents, brothers, sisters, all of them were dead. And though he loved the girl, he dare not confront her about the strange things she held in her possession.
He could hear her crying now. Crying just like she had when she was younger. Then a moment later the crying stopped and she began whispering in undertones he could not hope to hear.
She didn't want him near, but he would not leave her.
He felt the ground under his feet soften and he looked down to find something in the floor's place. "Flowers…." He muttered quietly. A moment later the flowers went through what almost seemed to be a sped up life, and they fell to the ground revealing dirt before turning to dust and mingling with it.
He turned back to the door and opened it the smallest bit allowing himself to see rows upon rows of stones jutting out of the ground in perfect formation. His brow furrowed as he watched the girl quietly walk past all of them, tears running down her face as it was shielded with anger. There were so many. The room had to somehow been made larger to hold them all while keeping the rest of the house the same size. Were the graves her families or… someone else's? He closed his eyes and shut the door before falling to his knees and clenching his hands in front of him.
A moment later he heard a startling lack of noise and he turned back around thrusting the door wide open, but seeing nothing but a large and empty grave. He walked in carefully and, not being able to control himself, started reading the names. Tears grew in his eyes with each one. When he reached the end of the rows he was finally able to see a stone at the head of them all, slightly larger than the rest.
Somewhere not quite understood tears fell down a girl's face as she dropped her shield of anger and cried openly, tousled brown hair falling over her arms and dull blue eyes as she crumpled. Her greatest wish had been to disappear… even from him.
Please review and tell me how my first attempt went. Flames accepted!
