(okay, so - think of voldemort as young and handsome - like joe walker from avpm. and harolyn, or harry for short, is a girl.)

He gave me the choice. While I was standing there, back pressed against the cold stone, struggling with the statue's scythe, in the graveyard.

It was quite simple, really.

"Harry... may I call you Harry? Or do you prefer Harolyn? Well, you're not really in any position to argue."

He laughed. The sound made me grit my teeth.

"Harry. You have a choice. I hate to waste strong magical talent like yours, diluted as it is with the blood of your mudblood mother."

I bit my lip hard to keep from retorting.

"So, I shall give you the choice. I'd like you to join me. "

I gasped, too loudly in the hushed graveyard.

He laughed again.

"Yes. Join my worthy cause, become a death eater... or die. I'd choose quickly Potter. I'm not a particularly patient man."

Yes... I got that impression. I wasn't particularly scared anymore, now that I thought about it. He hadn't actually hurt me. Too gentlemanly to hurt a girl? No, I doubt it. Maybe he meant what he said about saving my magical talent?

He was watching me from his seat on another gravestone.

It's not such a difficult decision. I don't want to die. And I have no loved ones to fight for. Just the entire magical race as I know it...

Die. Or become one of them, and kill innocent people at the Dark Lord's side, completely useless to the order of the phoenix's cause.

Not that they particularly cared about me, once they found out that the "chosen one" prophecy was all a lie. But I could show them that I'm not just some useless little teenage witch... at Voldemort's side, I could provide them with information... yes! Get close to him. Which didn't sound too bad really. For all that he's the most evil wizard alive, he's pretty young. And handsome... Dammit. Stupid hormones. This plan is starting to look much better than death...

I cleared my throat.

Voldemort looked up at me from where he was sitting.

"You've made a decision, Harolyn?"

I took a deep breath. No going back after this...

"Yes. I'm going to join you."
