"No I can't take one more step towards you, cause all that's waiting is regret..."
She stared after him in disbelief as he walked straight in Santana's arms. Her eyes widened, then filled with tears as the pair kissed.
"Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore...you lost the love I loved the most...I learned to live, half alive, and now you want me one more time..."
Rachel hurried out of the school, hiding from her friends(and from him)in the crowd of students, for once considering her short stature a blessing. Walking the four blocks to her house in the freezing cold however, wasn't so much of one, but she managed. She couldn't believe that he would do this to her...granted, what she did was awful, but he had cheated on her before with Quinn, leading her on to believe that he actually wanted to be with her while still being Quinn's boyfriend. Well, he wouldn't get the chance to break her heart again.
"I hear you're asking all around, if I am anywhere to be found...but I have grown too strong, to ever fall back in your arms..."
A few weeks later, Santana and Finn had broken up because she had caught him in bed with another Cheerio. Finn, even though it was his fault, was going around acting all heartbroken; he was all but begging the Glee Club members to help him get Rachel back. Finally, she had heard enough. She swept past him on her way to class, passing him a note that informed him of a meeting, just the two of them, in the auditorium at lunch.
"It took so long just to feel alright, remember how to put back the light in my eyes, I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed, 'cause you broke all your promises..."
Resolve mounting as she walked into school that day, Rachel had gathered her courage and called a meeting between her, Santana, and Quinn. Once they heard what she had in mind, they had agreed wholeheartedly and were now waiting in the auditorium for the plan to go down. Finn followed Rachel inside and looked on in confusion as Rachel began to do what she did best: sing.
"And now you're back...you don't get to get me back!"
Santana and Quinn came off the stage and sang behind her in perfect harmony.
"Who do you think you are, running 'round leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts, tearing love apart..."
As they watched Finn, they saw the light go on in his head, that they were singing this about him, to him, and he didn't like it one bit. He turned to leave, but a look from Rachel stopped him in his tracks.
"You're gonna catch a cold, from the ice inside your soul, so dont come back for me, don't come back at all..."
The girls sang in harmony, circling around the boy like predators circling their prey. "Who do you think you are?, Rachel whispered, a tear falling down her cheek. After staring at Finn for a minute, the trio turned and left the auditorium, leaving Finn behind to wonder how his life had gotten so very complicated.
