" In my younger more vulnerable years I received* some advice that I've been turning over my mind ever since. 'Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,
just remember that all the people in this world
haven't had the advantages that you've had.' "
-The Great Gatsby-

I had no idea the significance that lay behind Dr. Magnus's words. Nor, do I believe he did. For how could anyone foresee what lay beyond young Helen's nearing future, nor, how long that future would extend?

We were young and full of mirth. The world stretched out before us, positioned just out of reach. Something that was so close and enticing and yet so unstainable. In our foolish pursuit of furthering science and incautious behaviour we justified an unjustifiable experiment – us.

That was when Dr. Magnus's words became an entity of their own. It was the beginning, the seeding, of what was to become our lives. Vampirian Blood - youthful irresponsibility or the next stage in our Races evolutionary process? To this, all these years later, I am still unsure of the answer. If people were to discover my secret, that I was born over two centuries ago, they would find it near impossible to believe that uncertainty continues to plague my existence.

However, among the various discoveries and knowledge that I have obtained I know one thing for certain; we all have a story. What these stories tell and explain about a person is extremely unique. It is something that should never be forgotten, whether they are encouraging or horrific. Stories are our history – in both personal and global contexts. However, there is one particular story that is the uniquist** of them all. It is the story of John Druitt and his forever young Helen Magnus.
