Goodbye

Michiru arrived at home, whistling and happy that she would meet her love Haruka soon. Although the blonde had been in a weird state of depression lately, Michiru always managed to cheer her up. She entered the house and called out: "Haruka?" No answer. Michiru frowned and walked into the kitchen. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw what had happened. Haruka hung from one of the timbers that ran across the ceiling, her feet dangling twenty centimeters over the floor. Her eyes were closed, her face had a sickening white color, and her tongue hung out. "Haruka!" Michiru yelled, hurried over and tried to support her hanging lover, although it was obvious that Haruka was already dead. Finally Michiru gave up, and with tears in her eyes she cut Haruka down. That was when she saw the note that laid on the kitchen floor. She picked it up and read it.

"Michiru, I'm sorry to leave you behind alone. Please forgive me. Last week I found out that I have cancer, and I wanted to save you the pain of seeing me die slowly. Love you always. Haruka."
