The night was dull. Everything that week had been dull. Lady Elizabeth had called in, naturally that was at least exhaustingly eventful, but still. Nothing else had happened.

Dull.

Ciel Phantomhive had better things to do than lay around reading old reports of cases that had been concluded, he needed something new, something exciting to do. But Sebastian was in the way of him doing anything fun at all.

"Young master, you must take care. You are still healing."

Ciel was fine. He'd been shot, but that was over a month ago. Sebastian had tended to those wounds, and despite the fact that there was only a slight scab visible on his shoulder now, he continued to treat Ciel in a baby-like manner. With an obnoxiously loud sigh, Ciel swung his feet around and off the side of the bed, settling his bare feet onto the cool floor beside him. With a shiver, he stood, and made his way to the window. He glanced out into the night longingly. Some part of him wanted to see a stranger sneaking out there, a sniper hidden in the garden, anything...

"Enjoying the scenery, m'lord?" Sebastian's voice sliced cleanly through Ciel's thoughts like a katana, leaving only the echo of his smooth voice in the room.

"Sebastian," Ciel said, turning. "I-"

"You could not sleep, young master?" Sebastian finished with a taunting half-smirk.

Ciel turned his attention back to the window, redness creeping into his cheeks. "Of course not, with all that racket from Bardroy in the other room..."

Sebastian stepped closer, putting a gloved hand onto Ciel's shoulder. Ciel turned his head to look at him, doing all he could to surpress a shiver.

"Come now, young master. You need your rest. Tomorrow is a big day."

"What do you mean by that, Sebastian?" Just as always as he spoke his butler's name, a touch of pride washed over Ciel Phantomhive in knowing that he had named his Demon butler after the harmless family dog. Deceased now, of course. Though still amusing.

"I've had you enrolled in a private school," Sebastian said, leading Ciel to his bed to lay him down. He hesitated, before gently lifting the blankets up towards Ciel's chin.

Ciel stared blankly at him. "School? Whatever would I need that for? I have tutoring. And need I remind you there are still people looking for me after our last deranged serial killer incident."

"I will of course accompany you, young master. I wouldn't have you alone in a place like that."

"A place like what?"

"Ah, that's right. You've never attended school."

"No, I haven't, and I don't bloody well need to. I have a tutor, I have many tutors-"

"Please do not work yourself up, m'lord." Sebastian interrupted, brushing a gloved hand over Ciel's cheek. "It is time to sleep."

Ciel frowned and turned his head away, resting his pinkish cheek on the soft pillow beneath his head. "I will not attend school, it's ridiculous and unnecessary."

"Goodnight, young master." Sebastian smiled, bowed so closely that Ciel briefly imagined a kiss.

Briefly, Ciel told himself, forcing his eyes closed as Sebastian left the room. It was just a fleeting thought. Nothing to it.
