Hi, readers. I know I just finished writing "Realization" and yet here I am with another X/Zero fic. Inspiration is a funny thing. This is based off a short X/Zero panel I saw on Tumblr. It was so cute that I had to make a one-shot out of it. I hope you enjoy this very short story. Read and Review.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Mega Man franchise.

It was a strange phenomenon but it existed nonetheless. One would think robots would be immune to disease since they didn't have internal organs or any of the biological systems humans did. Apparently, that wasn't the case as the Hunter Base's best warrior was stricken with what was basically the robot version of the flu. It wasn't really that X had caught a human virus and had been infected; rather, there had been human scientists who, for reasons the reploids didn't understand, had been constructing programs that mimicked human diseases, supposedly for research purposes and X had picked up one while out on a mission.

Initially, everyone was in a state of panic, not only because the Base's best hunter had been afflicted, but also because of the possibility that other reploids could become infected as well, since X was their most advanced robot. However, upon analysis of the bug, Alia assured everyone that there was nothing major to be concerned about. X wasn't going to go Maverick and the virus's only effect was to give X all the typical symptoms of the flu: coughing, sneezing, sore throat and a slight fever.

X was currently undergoing a system defragmentation that would rid him of the virus. His boyfriend Zero had been taking care of him for the past twelve hours, providing X with anything he needed and was on his way to X's room again to check on him. He had with him a small box wrapped in simple white paper with a red bow on top.

Zero slowly opened X's door and saw his lover asleep. He smiled softly. Even sick, X looked peaceful. Being careful to be as quiet as possible, Zero walked up to X's beside.

I hope he likes these.

Zero looked back at the door, and listened for a few seconds to make sure no one was coming. Even though all the hunters and Navigators knew and were supportive of the relationship between the two, Zero still didn't like to show open signs of affection with others around. It just wasn't him. This was a side of himself that he only allowed X to see. Zero gently placed the present next to X in the bed before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek.

"Get well soon, X," he whispered.

Zero quickly left the room, closing the door behind him. He didn't see the smile that had formed on X's face in his sleep.
