Chapter 1
When Sarah and Adam pull up to the truck stop they see Amber inside looking at them.
"there she is!" Sarah says
Adam just looks at Sarah then back at Amber.
"I'm gonna go in and get her." Sarah tells him
"you gonna be okay?" he wonders
"yeah, thanks Adam." she says
"you want me to go in with you?" he asks
"no that's okay. I got this. I'll be right back." she tells him
"okay." Adam says
Sarah gets out of the car in the pouring rain and puts her hood up over her head and runs towards the little eatery to get her daughter and goes inside.
"Amber!" Sarah says
"Mom!" Amber says rushing over to her hugging her tight
"I'm so sorry." Amber appoligizes to her
"it's okay. it's okay." Sarah says hugging her holding her tightly and kisses her head not letting her lips leave Ambers head
A few minutes later Sarah pulls away and looks at her daughter "you okay?" Sarah asks
Amber just nods wiping her eyes.
"ready to go?" Sarah wonders
Amber just nods again.
"okay lets go." Sarah says wrrapping her arm around her and takes her out to Adams car and they get in
Adam turns around "hey Amber you okay?" Adam wonders
"hey Uncle Adam; And yeah thanks for being concerned." she tells him
"okay." Adam says and waits for them to get thier seatbelts on before pulling away into the night back to Berkeley
Sarah and Amber just stay quite and it concerns Adam who is focused on driving.
