"Elizabeth? What's so great about Elizabeth?" Rodney asked.

"Honestly? I don't know. I just like her," John answered. "So what do you think?"

"Are you sure you don't like Teyla?"

"Why would I like Teyla?"

"I don't know she just seems like the hot alien chick type you've been going after lately."

"Hey, we're not gonna talk about that."

"You mean your kirking days are over?"

John glared at him. "Yes."

"Oh. Good. Maybe that will leave some girls for the rest of us," Rodney said straightening in his chair.

John rolled his eyes. "So what do you think about me and Elizabeth?"

"Oh. Well, she's not really my type, I mean she's no Samantha Carter, but if you like her, go for it. I mean—"

"Rodney," John said slowly.

Elizabeth was standing at the door. John looked embarrassed.

"Elizabeth. Hi," Rodney said. "We were just talking about—about planets."

"Planets?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yes, yes, planets. And which ones we liked. We might have to retire there someday, you know. And since they're actual names are so hard to remember, I mean I know them, but John...anyways, we named them after people. You and Samantha Carter. I'm leaving now. I'll see you guys later."

John watched him leave. Why did Rodney have to be such a bad lier?

Elizabeth came into the room all of the way. "You named a planet after me?" she asked John.

"It was Rodney's idea," he said quickly.

"Well, that was sweet of him."

John winced. Why hadn't he taken the credit for it? "Elizabeth, about what Rodney was saying, I..."

"What was he saying? I had just walked over."

"Oh. Never mind then."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

She smiled. "Okay."

John watched her walk away with a sigh. He was so close, he just couldn't bring himself to tell her.
