A/N: So, this is just a little one-shot I wrote a while ago. I guess it's kind of obvious who it's about, but this is the first time I've tried this sort of thing (not revealing who it's about until the end, that is). This is also my first Harry Potter fanfiction, so if you review, please be as nice as possible. I'll take some advice and things like that, but please at least say it nicely. I'm pretty nervous as it is.

Also, whenever I post a chapter (or on this case, a story) I'll usually like to list some songs that go along with it. Since I could only come up with one song for this story, I might as well tell you that the one song mentioned is actually the song that inspired this story.

Song for this story: "Haunted" by Taylor Swift

Please enjoy, and sorry for rambling on and on. I tend to do that a lot. :P

She stood there in the rain, calling his name, for what seemed to be an eternity. Her throat burned from her screams and her eyes swelled from her tears, but she hardly noticed. All she could feel was confusion, sadness, and loneliness. He was gone, after all.

I figured this would happen, she thought as she stood there, pleading him to come back, not even knowing the words that escaped her lips. He isn't used to this sort of thing.

She was throwing herself into denial, and she knew it. She continuously told herself that he would come back and hold her, comfort her... but of course, that was far from reality. About as far from reality as you could get. At the moment, though, she felt detached from reality, so to her, it didn't really matter.

She pondered about how he could even think she'd chosen his friend instead of him. It was like saying she was in love with her brother, which was insane. She couldn't imagine something like that occurring. Maybe he could, but he was always compared to his siblings, so it made sense that he would, always feeling as though everyone was better than him, but all the same...

He always wondered why she loved him, but she thought it was obvious. He was normal. He was ordinary, which was rare to find in her life of extremes. There always seemed to be something else, though, something beyond her understanding...

Maybe that was just it. Maybe it was because he was so hard to understand. Everything was so easy to her, except him, with his confusing emotions and his supposedly happy life...

She shivered, and whether it was from the cold or the thoughts she despised she didn't know. All she knew was that she wanted him to come back desperately, but, knowing he wouldn't come back, Hermione decided to go back and join Harry in their tent. When she was inside, she suddenly discovered how pathetic she must look, but somehow she didn't care about that as she told Harry what happened, that Ron had disapparated and that he was gone. She then curled up on a chair and fell into a tearful sleep.

A/N: So there ya go. I know it's really short, even though when I wrote it on paper it took up the whole page... well, I hope you liked it anyway. And if you noticed the fact that a bunch of the paragraphs end with "...", I'm sorry if that annoys you, but it just happened like that. Remember to R&R, but please remember to be nice! :)
