"Hey big brother," Karin said in a sarcastic tone. "Long time no see. I wonder where you've been all this time?"
"None of your business," Ichigo snorted, taking a long drink from his juice box. The two siblings were sitting at the kitchen table.
"Well, I'll just assume that you've been doing Soul Reaper business then," Karin mumbled, chewing on the tip of her straw. It's now or never. They were alone in the house at the moment.
"So?" Ichigo asked. "Why have you gotten so interested in my Soul Reaper business all of a sudden?"
"I've always been interested," Karin retorted, "But you never seem to notice and ignore me." She hesitated before going on. "Say, Ichigo. You know…Toshiro, don't you?"
"Toshiro?" Ichigo echoed.
"Yeah, duh. We don't know that many Toshiros, do we?" Karin pointed out dryly.
"Toshiro…yeah, of course I know him…HOLD ON A MINUTE! YOU MEAN TOSHIRO AS IN TOSHIRO HITSUGAYA, THE CAPTAIN OF SQUAD TEN?" Ichigo roared, spitting out his mouthful of juice, which narrowly missed Karin's face. She rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed. "And just when did he start letting people call him by his first name anyway? WAIT A SEC! HOW DO YOU EVEN KNOW ABOUT HIM?"
"Oh, that…I met him while you were…er…away," Karin answered nervously. Ichigo shot her a glare. "He… um, saved me from a hollow." Before she could go on, Ichigo stormed out of the kitchen.
Later...In Ichigo's bedroom
"Ichigo!" Rukia said, sitting on his bed. "What's the matter with you? You've been in a foul mood since morning. Want me to draw you something to make you feel better?"
"Nothing's wrong," Ichigo muttered without so much as a glance at her. "And no thanks. I don't want, or need, another one of your sucky drawings."
"EXCUSE ME?" Rukia shouted angrily. They froze when Ichigo noticed none other than Toshiro Hitsugaya sitting on the windowsill, looking amused at their argument.
"TOSHIRO! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SISTER?" Ichigo yelled at the top of his lungs. Karin, walking past his room at that very moment, stopped dead. Dead silence. Rukia started to giggle as quietly as possible, but even that was too loud in the completely quiet room.
"How many times do I have to tell you, Ichigo?" Toshiro grunted. "It's CAPTAIN HITSUGAYA!"
"KARIN! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER, TOSHIRO?"
"I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING! ARG, AND I TOLD YOU! CAPTAIN HITSUGAYA!"
"MY SISTER!"
"CAPTAIN HITSUGAYA!"
Karin couldn't take it anymore. She slammed the door open. Everyone else inside the room stopped what they were doing and stared at the girl by the door while she stared back at them with her mouth wide open. "Toshiro..."
