about Hotaru and Shinji (and their parents) being
property of their respective creators (no, not me)
but everything else belonging to me, yada yada.
Anyway, I noticed this trait that
both Hotaru (of SM) and Shinji (of NGE)
seem to have; I saw this because
I am somewhat similar to these two.

When Hotaru was young, her mother died
Then raising Hotaru, her father tried
However, after he became possessed
As a parent to her, he wasn't best
She felt unloved, being always alone
It was enough to make anyone moan
Also, one thing that declined was her health
Tiring so easily, why care 'bout wealth?
Shinji was also young when his mother died
And it seemed like his dad wasn't on his side
His father would make him so mentally sore
That he felt he couldn't take it anymore
So he went to live with other relatives
To him, these new parents had much more to give
His dad was so impersonal, uncaring
That he called his son back for only one thing
Shinji felt so unloved, empty inside
That he really didn't care if he died
Hotaru, Shinji, and I have this common thread
We all have depression; it takes over our heads
The reason is a little diff'rent for me
All my parents are still alive; yes, all three
Having dad, mom, and step-dad can be kinda cool
And things were fine 'till I graduated from school
But since then, ev'rything I do is wrong, it seems
It takes too much work to even reach simple dreams
There's only one thing I want that's expensive
If I had my own home*, how happy I'd live!
But 'round me, it seems like there's always some strife
And so I live a very unpleasing life
