Lips of An Angel, a law and order: ci fanfic

I'm baaaaack!

Thanks to everyone who reviewed on my last CI piece Caught In The Act

This is my first attempt at an angsty drama. (I'm pretty sure angsty is not a word…but hey it just came to me :p ) My second attempt at a songfic.

Basically Bobby and Alex both have significant others but shlove each other. I was listening to Hinder's Lips of an Angel so I just ran with it.

It's kinda hard to talk right now

I gotta whisper cause I can't be too loud

He stomps into his study and slams the door. The last fight he had with his wife ended up with cops at their door because of a noise compliant filed by the neighbors. Slumping in his chair he reaches for the phone. His harsh hello is met by a broken whisper.

"Bobby…."said the soft feminine voice on the other line.

Well my girls in the next room

Sometimes I wish she was you

I guess we never really moved on

"Alex, is everything alright? You sound upset…." Asked a concerned Bobby.

"I'm fine, it's just…well we had another fight. This time he left, with the car. He s-s-said he would be at a m-m-motel" Said Alex who was trying to be articulate through the sobs and sniffles.

"Will you be alright?" asked Bobby while sitting on the edge of the seat poised to grab his keys.

It's really good to hear your voice

Sayin my name

It sounds so sweet

Comin from the lips of an angel

Hearin those words

It makes me weak

Never want to say goodbye

But girl you make it hard to be faithful

"I need you." Choked Alex, "b-b-but I don't think your wife would g-g-go for…"

She was cut off by Bobby's reply, "I'll just tell her it's a case, she won't know."

His offer was met with silence and he instantly knew. "I'll be there in fifteen."

It's funny that you're callin me tonight

And yes I dreamt of you too

Does he know your talkin' to me?

Will it start a fight?

No, I don't think she has a clue

Fifteen minutes later, Bobby was knocking on Alex's apartment door.

Alex opened the door with a tearstained face and puffy eyes, red from crying. Bobby didn't need an invitation to take her into his arms.

After a few seconds Alex felt Bobby's lips on hers. Bobby could taste the salt on her soft lips.

"I…love you, Bobby." Said Alex when she pulled back.

"I love you too, angel." Replied Bobby, knowing that he couldn't hold her forever in his arms liked he wished, but for now, tonight would be enough.
