"What!? No!"
"And that my fine young hipster, is how you get schooled with the Final Kamehameha"
"Jerk"
"You love me."
"... I know, even if you do always beat me, you anime nerd"
"Guilty as charged"
Chloe had recently gotten her own copy of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and proceeded to beat Max in every single match; and she was loving it. "Well, that's enough of that, we should start working on dinner huh?" Chloe said as she turned off the PS4. "Probably… what are you thinking? I'm thinking breakfast for dinner." "Max you're always thinking breakfast for dinner, ever since mom taught me how to make her 'World Famous Belgian waffles'". Max innocently shrugged because she knew Chloe was right. Chloe just gave her a look and said "Alright, but tomorrow I'm making chicken, found a new recipe I wanna try." She then went into the kitchen while Max relaxed into the couch.
Recently moving into their new apartment Max and Chloe were living pretty well for themselves. Sometimes Max still couldn't believe everything she had. She effectively abandoned Chloe when she needed her most but as Chloe always reminded her when she went into a mood 'You were thirteen, there wasn't anything you could do at the time'. And she's right every time, but I still never even called or wrote thought Max, but everything since we reunited has been great. The moment Max returned to Arcadia Bay for her senior year at Blackwell, she knew what would happen when she ran into Chloe. Rachel even said she got a little scared at how angry Chloe was when she was yelling at Max, and Rachel is pretty hard to scare. But the moment Chloe got everything she needed to say out, she grabbed Max and gave her the tightest hug she'd ever given the smaller girl. After that they were as thick as thieves, or pirates, as they were when they were kids.
Max looked over to the kitchen where Chloe was making waffle batter, Even after everything, just to have her back in my life is amazing, though, she still manages to surprise me and show her love for me, she thought as she absent mindedly twirled the engagement ring around her finger. Why am I lucky enough to eventually get to call this blue-haired punk my wife?
With the sun setting, the light that came in through the window lit up the kitchen in a way that Max grabbed her camera and took a photo of Chloe in the golden light, the click and whir of the motor as the photo was ejected caused Chloe to give Max a smirk and some side eye as she poured the batter into the waffle maker. Max returned the smirk and tucked the photo away to develop. When the waffles finished, Chloe grabbed the syrup and sauntered her way over to Max and presented the waffles "M'lady" said the taller girl as she sat down. The two talked and ate as the sun set further and illuminated San Francisco Bay with its dying light.
Authors Note
Hey there reader, this is my first time writing anything where someone else may see and read it but hey, I liked writing when I was younger, so why not just do it now. A quick one shot for my favorite girls here, any comments or constructive criticism would be appreciated if you'd take the time. Hope you enjoyed it.
