Sometimes it's good to take a break from the normal routine. Take a breather, rest your mind, and get ready to return to the norm afterwards. Usually breaks are quick and meaningless. But now and then, something can happen to make it well worth it...

Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, and Happy were all tired from walking around so much in the Fiore Kingdom. After a long debate of whether to continue walking or to stop in one of the nereby towns, the girls managed to convince the boys to come with them to Clover Town to stop for a day or two.

Erza and Gray led the way along with Happy, leaving Natsu and Lucy to be behind. Natsu tried to act normal, but being alone with Lucy made him extremely nervous. He couldn't help but glance at her now and then, hoping she would break the silence. He wanted to speak up, but he couldn't for some reason, like it was difficult to form words.

"Natsu, I'm sure this break will be good for you."

He flinched as he heard Lucy speak. She looked to him with a smile, making him blush faintly. He managed to regain his voice and rub the back of his head.

"Erm, y-yeah, I guess I do feel a bit overworked. I'm sure you guys are all exhautsed, too."

Lucy nodded and looked ahead to Erza.

"Erza kept complaining to me to get us to take a break. She's probably the most tired out of all of us."

Natsu nodded and kept silently thinking to himself of how to get Lucy alone like this in town.

The group eventually arrived in town just when the evening was coming. Natsu knew that he had to ask Lucy now or it might never happen. Right when he was about to speak up, Gray turned to them.

"Hey, you guys ready to find a place to crash at?"

Lucy was about to open her mouth, but Natsu spoke up quickly.

"You guys go ahead! Lucy and I will catch up!"

Lucy turned to look at Natsu and Gray could only smile, knowing of his friend's situation.

"Suit yourselves."

As Erza, Gray, and Happy walked without them, Lucy could only look to Natsu in confusion.

"Something up?"

Natsu blushed and shook his head. He instinctively took her hand and guided her under one of the many trees in Clover Town. Lucy could only follow with a confused look on her face.

Natsu brought her with him and sat under the tree with her. Lucy sat next to him on a hill overlooking the town. She stared at him, who was smiling happily.

"What got him in such a happy mood? He never really acts like this, well at least not alone with me. Is he sick or something? Did I do something to-"

"Lucy, look at the sunset."

She popped out of her zoning out mode and looked to the sunset. It turned the sky pink and orange with just a bit of red as the sun said goodbye to this side of the world.

"It's beautiful..."

Natsu smiled and looked to her, feeling confident around her now. He took her hand in his, causing Lucy to blush.

"H-hey, Natsu-"

"These moments are the ones I love."

Lucy blinked some and blushed more.

"W-what do you mean...?"

Natsu smiled at her brightly and looked into her chocolate-brown eyes with his own.

"Moments with you, Lucy. I don't get to spend much time with you alone, so it's the little things like this that I cherish."

Lucy blushed bright red and felt her blush intensify as she felt Natsu kiss her cheek softly. As she rubbed her cheek, shocked, he helped her up and smiled.

"Let's get going. We can't leave the others waiting too long."

As he walked to Gray, Erza, and Happy with Lucy next to him, he held her hand tight, finally proud that he showed her at least a bit of how much he cared for her...
