A/N: This is for vicky199416's contest! Well, the deciding factor for the contest...anyway, I choose my character at 25! So, here goes nothing! Read and review...and give me a good score!
I drummed my fingers against the table impatiently, waiting for Astoria. She was supposed to have been here by now, though I hadn't expected her to be. She was always late, one of the things I found most annoying about her. She was never on time, no matter what the event. She was probably going to be late to our wedding!
At this thought, I sighed. The wedding was a sore subject, seeing as how I hadn't wanted it. In all honesty, I had been more inclined to marrying Pansy, someone I had grown up with. Someone I once thought I loved. However, this marriage had been planned since the moment of my birth. There was no way I was going to get out of it, no matter what I tried.
I was pulled from my thoughts by a light hand on my shoulder. Turning, I scowled slightly "You're late."
Astoria sneered, sitting opposite me "I was busy."
I sighed, straightening up. It wouldn't do to fight now, not when we had planning to do.
"So, the...wedding..." I faltered, still refusing to believe it was actually happening. I was only 25!
"What about it?" She cooed, batting her eyelashes flirtatiously, "It's already planned. I want to talk about after."
"Astoria!" I gaped. That was another thing. She was completely sex oriented.
"What?" She grinned devilishly, shaking back her dark curls.
"Please, let us get back to the matter at hand." I demanded, sounding like my father. My father who, after giving himself up, had been sentenced to 10 years in Azkaban.
"You're no fun." Astoria frowned, sitting back. I shrugged, as if I cared what she thought, and cleared my throat.
"Mother says she wants the wedding to be green and silver, like Slytherin, since that's our house." I began, "And she wants everyone who's anyone to be invited. Which means, only the good names."
Astoria yawned and nodded, placing her chin in her hand. I could understand her boredom, but I didn't get how she couldn't see the importance of all this. The life changing effects it was going to have "That's nice."
"That's nice?" I practically spat, "That's NICE? Don't you get it? We're getting married! Our lives are about to be over! I hardly even know you!"
"Believe it or not, Draco, I DO get it." Astoria hissed, her voice cold.
"Well, I don't think you do!" I growled, then sat back, "We can't do this. This is going to be hard enough already."
Astoria sneered, but kept her mouth shut. I opened my mouth, preparing to start again, but stopped. This wasn't what I wanted to be doing today. This wasn't what I wanted to be doing at all. So why do it?
"Would you like to go somewhere?" I asked, catching myself off guard.
"Where?" Astoria's eyes widened, she'd obviously been caught off guard as well.
"Anywhere but here. The wedding's already been planned. Mother just wanted us to get to know each other. So, why not do that some other way?" I stood up and offered my hand. After a moment, Astoria allowed me to pull her out of her chair.
"Sounds fine to me."
