Metafic: Fanfic about fanfic.
A series of Modern AU drabbles in which Downton Abbey characters read fanfiction. This first scene was inspired by S/T smut weekend on Tumblr.
[Note: After more than a year of reading DA fic and thinking I'll publish something myself, I finally decided the only way to start is to start and thought drabbles might be a manageable way to go for now. For the record, they are NOT reading DA fic, though I haven't decided yet whether I'll ever specify which fandoms the various characters get into.]
Afterglow
Tom heaved a satisfied sigh as his heart rate began to slow to normal when a thought entered his mind, spreading a knowing smirk across his face. That smirk grew past a smile into a chuckle, and Sybil turned a curious look to her husband lying next to her on their bed.
"What?" she asked.
Still smiling, Tom rolled to his side, propped his head on his hand, and gazed down at her. Sybil – his gorgeous wife, the daughter of an earl, a political rabble-rouser educated at some of England's finest schools – had another side only he knew about.
"You've been reading smutty fanfiction again, haven't you?"
