"Dewey, you can't be doing that every time this happens." Huey scolded.

Dewford just rolled his eyes, or well, eye hearing that.

To him it wasn't a big deal, he was only protecting his brother. He just got a little hurt while doing so.

By 'little', he meant that he got very hurt, which included a black, swollen eye.

His cheek wasn't in the best condition either. He got punched so hard he started to cough up a little bit of blood. Just a little bit.

Dewey always stepped in to help his brothers, even if they didn't really need any. It always ended up with him getting into a fight with the bullies and getting hurt as a result. Of course, he finished those fights.

Huey and Louie appreciated the help, but they both agreed he doesn't need to be doing so. Not all the time, that is.

None of the fights had ever gotten this bad, though, and it worried Hubert. What if future fights got as bad as this, or worse? He didn't want any of that. He didn't want his baby brother to get hurt again.

Now he was trying to fix him up for the rest of the day.

"What's the big deal? I'm fine- Agh!" Dewey tried not to hiss from how the spray burnt his skin.

"You got a black eye for god's sake, Dew! A black eye!" He exclaimed.

Dewey moved his sight elsewhere. "It was worth it."

Huey sighed. "I was handling them just fine."

The eldest put the bandages on and made sure they were secured tightly enough. He then moved Dewey's hand away from his face to see how his eye was doing.

"Well, the swell's going down at least." Huey calmly spoke.

Dewey looked at him as he put his hand on Huey's face. Before Huey could say anything, Dewey gently pulled his head closer, causing their foreheads to touch. Both of them closed their eyes.

It was good to have a moment for themselves at least.

Forehead touches were one of the only ways they could show affection to each other outside of the mansion. Huey felt it was a little too risky to kiss anywhere in the open, so they tried doing other things.

Hearing footsteps, Huey immediately looked in the direction they were coming from.

Luckily, it was only Louie.

"How are the lov-" Huey grabbed Louie's beak, forcing it shut.

"Don't say that, Louie. We're at school." He said, letting go of his beak a few seconds later. "And we're fine, I'm just patching him up."

"Another fight I assume?"

"Yep."

Louie looked at Dewey's face. "Wow, that looks really bad."

Dewey moved his head to hide the black eye. "No kidding, captain obvious." He said in a sassy tone.

"Dewford, can you not?" He said sternly, catching his sass. "So what're you doing over here, Louie?"

"I just wanted to see how you two were doing." Louie answered. "Especially Mr. Black Eye over here."

Dewey shot a nasty look at Louie. Huey sighed; he just wanted to relax after all of this.

"Let's go. It's about time we get to class anyways." Huey said, getting up.

Dewey started to cough, which made Huey and Louie look at him with concern. He cleared his throat, looking at them both.

"I'm fine, I'm not going to be coughing up anymore blood anytime soon." Dewey reassured.

"Wait, what?" Louie looked at Huey, confused.

"He got punched really badly, so because of that he coughed up a little bit of blood." He explained.

Louie facepalmed, cursing under his breath. The school bell started to ring, which nearly startled all three of them.

Dewey pulled his sleeve back down, got up and started walking ahead of them. Huey and Louie looked at each other for a few seconds before following him.

Luckily for the rest of the day, they didn't come across the same kids from before.
