It had been four years since Magnus had left him for his people. Alec was destroyed inside still. After the elevator doors had closed that day he had collapsed to his knees crying and not being able to breath as if he was dying.
Jace had felt it and that had sent everyone into a fit trying to take care of both JAce and Alec when they ran out to him in the hall.
Izzy held him tight trying so hard to help him but Alec couldn't be helped by anyone but Magnus himself.
After that day Alec had grown cold, distant, and threw himself first into every fight and every mission. They knew he was on a suicide mission. It had been four years later when a high ranking warlock had come from Idiris and for recognition of all his hard work had blessed him with immortality, though he considered it a curse.
Magnus had no idea he had stayed off grid taking care of his people, helping clients, and sticking close to those he cared about that he chose to like Catalina and Madzie.
Catalina kept up with Alec's life despite things just in case Magnus asked about him, but had no idea how to tell him what the high Warlock had done.
"What has your thoughts so jumbled my dear?,"
"Hmm, nothng Magnus just news I received,"
"About whom?,"
"Alec," with that single name spoken Magnus froze.
"Is he dead?,"
"No, he was given something by the high warlock of Idiris,"
"They never give anyone anything without deservement,"
"He did, Magnus ever since you left him he has turned cold, distant, and suicidial,"
"What,"
"He throws himself into every misison without care, but for all his hard work the clave gave him...,"
"Gave him what?,"
"Immortality," Magnus's eyes went wide with that.
"You mean,"
"Yes Magnus, get off your high horse take the chance now go back and reclaim your man,"
"He is better off without me,"
"Damnit Magnus he is immortal now you still love him and he still loves you,"
"I'll consider it," with that the conversation was over as Cat gathered up Madzie and headed home.
Alec sat on the rail of the bridge staring out over the water thinking over things. He hated being immortal now, what was the point without Magnus to share it with.
Suddenly he heard footsteps stop behind him.
"Alexander," when he heard his name he froze Magnus hadn't returned to the bridge in the last four years he thought he was safe here.
"Ma..Magnus,"
"How, how are you?,"
"Fine, you?,"
"Honestly...I miss you Alexander It was wrong to do what I did that day,"
"You decided to do what was best I respected that," just by the tone of that sentence Magnus could heard how cold Alec's soul was.
"No I didn't, I didn't have to choose but because I did I lost the best part of my life for four years,"
"Why are you saying this now,"
"Because I have come to realize I can't live without you Alec, you were my first everything in many ways. I never meant ot hurt you please allow me to recapture your heart,"
"I don't have a heart any more Magnus, I'm sure you heard I have become cold,"
"Then allow me towarm it up," with that Magnus leaned up kissing Alec deeply and sensually slowly feeling him thaw out.
Alec was beginning to feel like himself again as he wrapped his arms around Magnus tightly.
Breaking apart but not releasing each other Alec smiled a true smile after years and hugged Magnus tight.
"Now we have forever," Alec said as he gazed into his eyes.
"I heard from a birdie about that I am looking forward to immortality with you,"
"As I am with you," Alec replied as they finally felt complete again after four long years.
