A Morning for Lucario

The rainstorm had stopped after a night and a day's deluge. The sun was just peeking out from behind the clouds, bathing the canyon in the orange glow of sunset. Green plants were still drooping with water, and all the world was still and peaceful. All, that is, except for Lucario.

Lucario had been running for most of that day, even through the rainstorm. His life hadn't been in danger until after he had taken a break, however. In fact, it was because of his break that he had been hailed with fire from above.

Now I know never to trust a Ditto with a package of waffles, he thought as jumped across a large rockslide obstructing his path. A loud bird-like scream of rage sounded behind and above him. Lucario's head turned a fraction to the side as he predicted what was coming.

Fireball attack- He jumped as high and as far to the right as he could as the flames surged past right where he had just been. He landed on a steep hill farther up the way, his pack thumping heavily against his side. A slight glint of light shone on the contents inside as he ran as fast as he could up the hill. Another scream sent a jolt through his body as he ran, making him push harder to get to the top of the orange dirt hill.

Uh-oh…He had reached the top of the hill and only then realized his direness of his situation. The hill ended in a steep cliff face. To reach the bottom, one would have to be prepared to fall for quite a while. He stood looking over the edge for a moment.

I'd rather not fall to my death today- His assailant was drawing closer and had already fired a round at him which missed him by a hair.

On second thought, burning to near death sounds like a worse way to go. He hated heights but he had to steel himself. He closed his eyes and jumped. After falling for a few seconds he opened his eyes. He landed on top of a slow moving tourist plane, slightly denting the orange and white painted steel. Lucky…

SQUAAAAAA!

Maybe not…He stood up on the roof of the plane and came to a quick decision. I can't leave these humans defenseless against my foe…Better that I deal with it NOW.

He turned his body into a defense position and put his hands together. As the Pokemon got nearer, Lucario charged one of his signature Aura spheres and sent it straight at his opponent. The sphere hit the attacker dead on. Due to the speed at which they had been going, it was a one hit K.O. and the Ditto faltered in its flight, swerved to the side and finally crashed into the cliff face, fainted.

Lucario gave a rare smile in victory. Now all he had to do was figure out a way to get down…

Hi y'all! This is my absolute first thing that I have ever written. I am more of a comic artist myself, but I enjoyed reading fan-fiction so much that I thought I'd try my hand at it. I hope that it was an enjoyable read. I plan on writing a second part to this story. Happy readings!
