Fading Pictures, Fading Memories

He lay on the hospital bed, waiting. It had been 70 years. The photos in his hand were already brown, after those years.

Time's the thief of memory.

There was a picture, a girl with strawberry blonde hair, standing by the rubble of a building.

Flashback

It was brought down, at last. The Black Organisation. There was the smell of blood and gunpowder everywhere. People shared congratulation, some cheered, some cried.

She stood there, beautiful as always, with her hair waving in the wind.

End of Flashback

Shinichi wheezed as he flipped to the next picture. His time was running out. He had only a few hours left before he was gone.

Gone where? The doctors never told him.

Flashback

"I would like everybody to welcome our new student Shiho Miyano to the class." The strawberry blonde haired girl managed a small forced smile.

"Popular as always, eh?" A raven haired boy was grinning like an idiot at her.

End of Flashback

Shinichi panted as he breaths grew heavier. Scenes flash before him as he lose consciousness slowly. If he had to go, he wanted to go with the memories of her.

Flashback

"No Shiho! You can't! You can't leave!" The raven haired boy declared after hearing that she had to leave for America.

After numerous arguments, the boy had finally relented, only on the conditions that she came back ever year to visit them.

That was the last anybody ever saw of Shiho Miyano or Ai Haibara.

Her flight had crashed due to an engine failure and no survivors had been found.

'Dead Kudo,

If this ever reaches you then well, good. The plane is losing altitude and I guess this will be my last words to you. This must be the payback for being a member of the organisation I guess. Well I just wanted to tell you something since I couldn't get round to telling you this. I love you.

Love,

Sherry'

That was the last message he had received from her. He loved her too, but he never had a chance to say it.

End of Flashback

The ECG beeps grew longer. *beep* ... *beep*

Shinichi Kudo had gotten what he had wanted for his life. An exciting adventure with lots of mysteries in it. And now was the time for him to go. His time in this world was up, he was going to join her too. Death was the ultimate enemy.

Without death, she would have been alive, much more alive than he was now. And could have had a happy life like in the pictures, yes, the fading pictures. But now, she only lived in the hearts of the people that once care for her.

But life has its limits. Shinichi drew his last breath as the ECG finally let out a long beep. Signalling the end of another life. The photos scatter on the floor as he died, the picture of just a raven haired boy and the strawberry blonde haired girl lay on top, finally they could be together. A cruel way to be joined, but fortunate in many ways too.

With the end of a life, the memories fade and go.

Memories fade and disappear

Pictures fade and die

But in those heart that once we loved

We live forever

I thought this one really really sucked. But I liked it :D (Don't really know why) Just in case for those people who did not understand. This is about a scenario that the Black Organisation was defeated, the

Shinichi and Shiho both secretly loved each other, but never confessed. And now Shinichi lay dying on the hospital bed, thinking about the past, the times that he was with Shiho. I hope that you liked it ^_^ (at least like it a bit, please?)
