Hey guyyss this a completely short one shot that is in no way related to my other stories, I just thought it was quite cute for all you Rick/Carmen shippers.

"Maybe I don't want to be friends!"

Those words had stung in her head. Carmen was sure Rick was the one. She though he really liked her. She guessed she was wrong.

Her eyes prickled with tears threatening to spill. She didn't want everyone to see her crying. Especially not over a boy. That would make her just like her mum. Carmen's mum used to spend hours sitting by the phone crying. Crying because her boyfriend stood her up. Or dumped her. So why couldn't Carmen stop crying? She tried. But the harder she tried the more it made her feel bad.

In the end she ran out her bedroom nearly running straight into Rick. "Look Carmen I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," Rick said. "Rick get over yourself." Carmen mumbled, shoving him out the way.

She ran downstairs out into the garden. Shoving through the branches she reached the dirty armchairs that lay at the bottom of the garden. Finally she let the rest of the tears fall. Her eyes soon turned red and the tears streamed down her face with no sign of stopping.

Why did she have to fall for him? He was a year older and so much better than she was. He was nice, good-hearted, good looking; she was cruel, cold and spiteful. Just like her mum. She thought she was worth nothing. She was to someone.

That someone realized how cruel he'd been. How stupid. How blind he'd been to the more than obvious connection between the two of them. He had told her things that only he and the social workers knew. He trusted her and she trusted him.

She HAD trusted him. Until he was sure he'd blown it with her. For good. He even knew where he had to go looking for her. Every time she was upset she isolated herself from everyone else and usually went somewhere no one else went. Not that she was usually upset. Rick thought she was bright, beautiful and intelligent. But he didn't deserve her. Even though he was the only one she wanted.

He found her. She was curled up on one of those horrible dusty armchairs at the bottom of the garden. Her head was buried in that gorgeous black hair. Slowly Rick went and sat down beside her. He brushed away her hair and put his arms round her.

"I'm really sorry," He said, "I didn't know that you thought about me that way," he admitted. "Well I do," Carmen said, sniffing. "Not that it really matters," as she buried her head further into her hair.

"Stop hiding silly," Rick said brushing away the hair once again. "Why doesn't it matter?" "Because I know you don't feel the same way," Carmen began but couldn't finish as she was cut off when Rick kissed her. It was a sweet 10 second kiss but even so it left Carmen speechless for about a minute after.

"So I guess you feel the same way?" She asked, hopefully.

"Of course I do you idiot," He replied kissing her again.
