A young boy runs,

Surrounded by wolves,

Consumed by desperation,

To escape this world.

.

But the wolves,

They hound him;

They hang off his heals,

Waiting to sound the attack.

.

The wolves are savage;

They are cruel;

They kill all those,

Who oppose them and their leader.

.

The boy is cautious,

He is nervous,

For he knows they wait,

For the moment he is vulnerable.

.

When that moment comes,

The leader of the pack attacks,

And the boy fights back,

In an effort to keep his life.

.

He incapacitates the leader,

Then flees with all haste,

To recuperate and prepare,

For the next attack.

.

His instinctual knowledge,

It tells him this:

'Neither can live,

While the other survives.'
