Death never was able to hold him for very long. The last survivor he had been obsessed with managed to escape his grasp and leave him behind in a blazing inferno, and that would have been the end of him forever. But sooner or later, legend turns to myth and there's always a new someone to try and see whether the lingering rumors were true or not. Someone who simply didn't know better. He heard his name being repeated over and over and felt himself getting stronger, felt his existence growing back into reality. His powers were regenerating as well.

Then it stopped. Just before his full regeneration, the name chanting came to a halt. That was fine. No one was ever curious enough to get to four and then stop. Whoever was calling him was the point of no return now, working up the courage to go forward. When his name was called for the fifth and final time, he appeared in the mirror as a reflection, grinning at those who had summoned him.

Candyman had returned.
