Remus apparated into Andromeda's house with a 'pop', he had been fearing facing his wife since he had hexed her to sleep in order to make sure he got her to her mother's. The fight he had had with Harry had made him see that he was being a coward by running away. He knew he had to make things right between himself and Tonks.
Andromeda rushed through, her voice was quiet "Remus, what are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see Dora" Remus sighed. "Is she okay?"
Andromeda shut the door behind her "Will you keep your voice down?"
"Is Dora all right? And the baby?" Remus repeated, frightened for his family.
"She's fine, they're fine. I just don't want her to see you right now, she'll get angry and stress isn't good for the baby"
The door creaked opened and Tonks shuffled in, rubbing her eyes and her swollen stomach. Her eyes almost popped out of their sockets when she saw her husband. She ran to hug him, he held her tightly in his arms until she pushed him away angrily.
"Hey, hey, you hexed me!" she said and she hit his arms.
Andromeda quickly put her arms around her daughter "Calm down, think of the baby"
Tonks inhaled and exhaled deeply, she glared at Remus before leaving the room. Remus went to follow her but Andromeda stopped with a gentle shake of her head. They could both here Tonks gently sobbing in the other room, it broke their hearts. Remus moved towards the door again.
Andromeda moved to stop him but he took her hand "I need to do this"
She nodded and withdrew herself from the room, he went towards Tonks' room, her sobs getting louder. He opened the door to find her lying on her side on the bed. He sat down beside her and put his hand on hers.
"Nothing's going to be wrong with her" she sniffled.
"I know now that we'll love him no matter what" he replied.
Tonks suddenly got up and looked Remus in the eyes "It's a girl"
Remus chuckled "Oh, Dora, sweet sweet naive Dora. It's a boy"
She giggled "You wish, Lupin"
