Shelagh was in the kitchen making breakfast on a Saturday morning Patrick had been called out and only Shelagh and timothy where in the house. after 6 months of marriage Shelagh was used to her husband needing to leave quickly if called out they had gotten very good at having his coat and bag at the door ready to go. Shelagh wanted her and timothy to spend more time together he was on the mend from his bout with polio and was much more active to her and Patrick's delight, but she wanted to spend time with her son so she thought a breakfast together would be a wonderful way for her and time to discuss what they waned to do that day and to catch up.
"Tim breakfast is ready dear" she shouted up to him
"coming mum " Timothy shouted back
it warmed her heart still every time he called her mum it meant he truly accepted her as his mother and is gave her even more comfort that they still spoke about timothy's birth mum they would also talk about Shelagh's mum and why her father never re-married.
"wow its smells so good in here" timothy smiled she smiled back and brought their plates to the table
"so what would you like to do today I was thinking you and I could spend the day together" Shelagh said
"really!" timothy said
"that sounds smashing can we go to the science museum again" timothy suggested
"of course darling whatever you want" Shelagh smiled she truly loved her son
