A/N: Hey, thanks for choosing to read Give In! I hope I can make it worth your while! This is the prologue of what I have planned out to be a three part story covering Rachel and Quinn's high school years. The next (first) chapter will start off after the second episode of the first season, "Showmance", but from then on this story will go in a completely different direction, with only a few elements of the show being the same. There will be some Finchel for a while, but I promise that if you bear through it you shall be rewarded.
Rating: M to be safe
Disclaimer: I do not own Glee, mainly because I am not Ryan Murphy, thank the lord.
Prologue: Freshman Year
Undoubtedly, Quinn was the prettiest girl she had ever seen. That was all Rachel could think when she saw her on that first day of high school, and it seemed the rest of the school agreed with her. Everyone freely gaped at her and her freshly donned cheerios uniform as she strutted down the hallway, head held high, knowing she had already won the game by making it onto the cheerios. Rachel wondered if it was common for freshman to make the team that quickly, but became sidetracked by the sheer beauty of Quinn Fabray's face as she grew closer to where Rachel was standing. From the arch of her raised eyebrow to the slope of her nose and to her red, pursed lips, she couldn't find a single flaw. Rachel felt herself become slightly insecure and irritated.
Really, how does someone even become that pretty?
But Rachel's thoughts were cut off when suddenly she felt herself meeting intense hazel eyes. She was stunned when it happened, and the shock seemed to be momentarily mirrored in the cheerleader's eyes, but then Quinn's gaze turned into a glare and her pursed lips into a scowl, and Rachel felt herself recoil.
Pretty face, not a pretty attitude.
Rachel quickly gathered her books and headed in the opposite direction of the new cheerio, vowing to keep her distance.
However, Rachel's internal pledge only lasted until lunch when she received her inaugural slushy-in-the-face.
"Welcome to McKinley, midget!" A deep voice maliciously called out at her.
She stood there in disbelief for a few moments, but once the sting of the ice registered Rachel quickly started wiping the frozen dessert out of her eyes, eager to find a teacher who was present during the transgression. However, all she was met with was the laughing and jeering of the entire cafeteria, and there, front and center, was Quinn Fabray, laughing viciously at her humiliation.
"You better go clean up RuPaul, you don't want your argyle to stain!"
Rachel stood there in shock, eyes starting to fill with tears. And when Quinn sent her a victorious smirk, she couldn't help but turn and run from her mortification as fast as possible. And as the tears started to flow freely down her face, she knew that she wasn't going to have an easy time in high school, mainly due to one Quinn Fabray.
A/N: Chapter 1 in a few days! Thanks for reading and it would pretty awesome of you to leave a review
