Simplest Comforts
Takes place after "who's bugging Mary." some spoilers.
Mary walked out of the elevator and sighed heavily, upon seeing Marshall intently working on, who knows what. She slid her card into the slot and slowly trucked through the office and over to her desk, where she then picked up a chair and walked with it over to Marshall's desk, proceeding to sit in it.
"Where have you been?" Marshall asked, still sighing papers and occasionally looking up to type on his computer. there was a pause, in which Marshall looked up at Mary, wondering why she hadn't come up with something witty.
Mary hesitated, then said, "I went to see this old friend of my dads," conveniently leaving out that he was in jail, she went on, "To find out anything I can about where he might be."
Marshall looked a little shocked but the look quickly passed as he asked, "what did you find out?"
Mary jumped up as if the chair were suddenly electrocuted, and she began to pace around the room, sniffing every few seconds. Marshall watched her. he quietly stepped over to her and put his arms on her shoulders.
"He said-he said that he didn't know anything about where my f-father could be," She was sobbing now (and might I add into Marshall's arms, so cute ) as she leaned her head onto Marshall's soft shirted shoulder. they stood there for around thirty minutes until Mary felt comfortable enough to look up at Marshall, who's eyes were kind.
The only thing left to say was, "Thank you,"
