The TARDIS was having a bit of trouble sticking to the right coordinates. He was jostled and almost throw off the railing as she landed. "Having a bit of a bad day, Sexy?" he murmured, straightened his coat. He walked out, slipping outside and stepping onto the grass.
A hospital. Okay, he could work with that.
But there was something… off about it.
"Hmmm." He flipped out his Sonic Screwdriver, letting it scan the surrounding area. He cocked his head to the side as the readings buzzed through, then stopped with a sharp buzz.
"Oh. Oh. Oh, dear, that is not good. Not good at all. Didn't think they would be here. A hospital of all things, honestly."
Even the feel of the inside felt like he was walking through a dry swamp.
But it was a hospital, and he couldn't go walking through one without a good reason.
And that reason stumbled out into the hallway with a half-ripped gown and fearful eyes.
He walked to the frightened woman quickly, crouching down next to her. "Are you alright?"
She paused, eyes moving to his face to the room she crawled out of. She made a decision. "In there. I saw one of the doctor's cut a woman open and eat one of her organs. I don't know if I'm going crazy, but he saw me."
His face went grave. He placed his hands on the woman's shoulders, smiling reassuringly. "You're not crazy. Something has happened to this hospital. But don't worry, I'm going to fix it."
He smiled. "I'm the Doctor." He quickly backtracked at the wince she made. "No! No no no, not the organ-chomping kind! The kind that save beautiful women when they call for help. Now come on." He slid an arm over her waist, helping her stand.
"Let's find out why this place smells like an aquarium."
When the human, well, human skin suit, moves to block their path, he could feel his hearts beating twice as fast.
"Oh, look at you! Aren't you a big boy," he cooed, slipping out his sonic and scanning quickly, checking the readings. "A very big boy."
The woman started to tremble, eyes wide. "That's him," she whispered, clutching his arm.
"You're the one who's been taking these nice people's organs. You know, that's not a very nice thing to do, cutting into people willy-nilly."
"I'm Dr. Sexy," it gurgled, eyes flushing to a dark green, green as seaweed. "I can cut into anyone I want."
"….right, then." His voice lowered. "What's your name?" he said to the woman.
"W-what?"
"Your name."
"It's Jodie."
"Okay, Jodie, can you run?"
"I-I think so."
"Good. Here's what's going to happen: when I give the signal, I want you to run as fast as you can out of the hospital, don't stop for anything. Understand?"
Jodie swallowed thickly, but nodded. "I understand."
"Good. Okay!" He stood up straighter, flipping his sonic idly. "So! You're hungry, right?"
The long and deep hiss of the creature behind the flesh mask was a positive answer.
"Well, then why settle for regular human eats…" He paused, smirking slowly. "When you can have a Time Lord?"
"What?" It seemed to recoil out of shock.
"Time Lord. Right here. One of the last of them. Now, what d'you say?" He lifted both arms, offering himself. "Dig in."
The creature screeched, sounding like nails on a chalkboard as it lunged.
"Now!" he shouted, flipping the switch for his sonic, letting the device make a soft, high-pitched frequency.
The creature screamed, hands over it's ears as it's skin moved and shifted.
Both Jodie and him covered their ears as they ran, just in time to miss the messy explosion of the creature's head.
