A/N: Whoaaaaa, a heterosexual fic! 0.o That's unusual, innit? But yeah, just a quick drabble; comes from rewatching the Battle City arc and realizing that, Ishizu would annoy the bejeezus out of Seto should he ever be trapped in an enclosed room with her. Or in a relationship.
And as everyone knows, that kind of relationship is the BEST kind. ::big smile::
Professional Risk
There are a billion reasons for Seto Kaiba not to date Ishizu Ishtar.
One, she is annoying. He has never encountered another opponent who had talked so much about his impending doom with so little results. He had actually been rather disappointed when his Blue Eyes had crushed her without difficulty.
Two, she has a psychotic little brother. He has no wish to wake up one morning and find himself dead because the "voices" started talking to Malik again.
Three, that Rishid guy seems to have a thing for her. Not that Seto doesn't have supreme confidence in his ability to woo the ladies! But you just don't mess with a man who has tattoos all the way down the side of his face. He probably hides a rusty shiv in one of those enormous sleeves of his. Again, no death wish for Seto.
Four, she's a know-it-all. Who wants a partner who spouts off what he's going to do tomorrow? God forbid he ever be tempted to cheat, she'd likely murder him a week before had it even occurred to him.
Five, she is distracting. Not as obviously distracting as, say, Kujaku Mai, but in a more... tasteful way. A subtle way. Less is more, he knows; the carved-marble curve of Ishizu's shoulders and the rythmic sway of her hips as she walks definitely lead his mind toward the "more". He needs to focus on running KaibaCorp, not on... other things.
Six -
"But hey, Onii-sama," Mokuba says, peering over his shoulder at the list he's currently typing, "couldn't there be good things about dating Ishtar-san?"
Seyo Kaiba admits possible mistakes to no one! He merely rolls his eyes in a condescending manner!
"...Give me an example." Except to Mokuba, he admits it then.
"Well.... She can see the future, right? She could predict market trends before they happen, or the outcomes of business deals and mergers, and see if anybody's going to try to overthrow the company again.... Or - hey, next time you duel Yuugi, if she likes you enough she might even tell you what moves he's going to make in advance!"
"...Hmm."

There are a billion reasons not to date Ishizu Ishtar. To do so would be annoying, distracting, and perhaps even life-threatening.
But hey, he always was one for taking professional risks.
R&R, and maybe the next time you watch the last episode Yami will turn around and say, "Actually, I think I'll just stay here." ::sighs::
