"I don't believe in tarots." Ryoma declared promptly. One afternoon, our beloved prince was spending his day at his lover, Fuji's house. Fuji wanted to try playing with his sister's tarot cards, but was rejected by Ryoma almost instantly.
"Why not?" Fuji asked curiously, he knows that Ryoma had not much interest in such superficial things, but to decline almost instantly was a bit out of character for Ryoma. Ryoma simply turned away, choosing to stare at Fuji's massive collection of cactus than answering. Leaning close to his lover, Fuji whispered softly into his ear, "Why not, Ryo-chan?" A blush spread itself across Ryoma's face as he tried to move away from Fuji, still refusing to answer.
This sparked Fuji's interest, he was going to get an answer out of his little prodigy no matter what. "Well, I do. Cause it gave me the courage to confess to you." He walked behind Ryoma once again and wrapped his arms around the younger one's waist. "Shinji desu Koi" He whispered into Ryoma's ear once again.
No one knew why, but tears began to flow out of Ryoma's eyes freely, he turned around and wept silently in Fuji's embrace. "Bu…but it says that Shuusuke will leave me! I…. I don't want that! I want to be with Shuusuke forever!" Ryoma wept even more. Fuji was shocked, for a lack of a better word. So that's why the 1st year tensai didn't want to answer, he didn't want to part with him? A small smile graced Fuji's lips as he hugged Ryoma tighter.
"Don't worry koi, I'll be with you for ever, no dry your tears." Ryoma shook his head furiously and buried his head deeper into Fuji's chest. "Ryoma," Fuji called out softly, but all he got was another series of shakes. He stroke Ryoma's hears and tried again, "Love, please, stop crying ok, I promise to be with you for ever. Not even the tarots spirit can stop me from doing that, now stop crying alright?" Ryoma looked up at Fuji, his eyes red and watery, like a little kitten lost and depressed. "But you said you believed in the tarots! I don't wanna leave Shuusuke……."and he went back crying.
Fuji chuckled, it was rare to see his prince act like a kid that he was supposed to be. His usual air of arrogance gone, replaced with child like innocence." You know Ryoma, people don't call me a tensai for nothing. I can outsmart fate if that is what it takes to be with you." "Really?" Ryoma mumbled into Fuji's now wet shirt His voice sounded hopeful. "Of course, anything for my koi," Fuji assured.
Untangling himself from Fuji's arms, Ryoma wiped his tears on the sleeve of his shirt. "You mean it?" "I swear on my life." At that Ryoma pouted, "Yada." He denied. Cocking his head to the side, Fuji mused, "Why not?" "I'd rather be apart from Shuusuke than having a dead Shuusuke, yada." That reply almost made Fuji fall off his bed, but as Ryoma was still sitting in his lap, he didn't. "Fine till eternity's end, happy?' Ryoma snuggled back into Fuji's arms again, nodding, "Mada mada dane." "I love you too Ryo-chan, I love you too. So do you believe in tarots now?" Unfortunately, his question went unanswered as Ryoma had fallen asleep, contented.
