A/N: This little one-shot came to me out of the blue. I hope you enjoy it.
Sunshine streams through the violet curtains. Its bright rays landing on a porcelain face. Sea blue eyes open slowly allowing them to adjust to the bright rays, a dreamy smile spreads over her beautiful face. The witch raises up and allows her silky blonde hair to cascade down her back like a waterfall. She looks over and gazes at hair the color of fire. She lays down and moves toward the sleeping body.
Narcissa places butterfly kisses on her lovers neck and face. She smiles when she feels her stir. Her lover rolls over and opens her beautiful green eyes.
"Good morning Lily." Narcissa whispered. She snuggled closer to her and buried her face into her lovers neck. Lily gave a small laugh and ran her fingers through Narcissa's blonde hair.
"Good morning Cissy." Lily returns. A comfortable silence spreads over them. The only sounds are the birds outside the open window singing their beautiful melody. Lily breaks the silence a few minutes later.
"I love you Cissy." she says. Narcissa looks at her and smiles. She claims her lips in soft gentle kiss.
A rumble thunder ruins her dream. Her eyes open and instead of sunshine all she is faced with is gloomy gray. The mist quickly clears, and she is in a cold room. She is surrounded by gray. She looks over and instead of looking at red hair she is looking at hair that's lighter than her own.
She wipes the tear that runs down her pale cheek, its once she wakes up she remembers. Her life with Lily was only brief. She could've runaway with her, but she chose not to. She had an obligation, and had to follow tradition. She didn't want to marry Lucius Malfoy, but she didn't have any say in the matter. He was from a noble pureblood line.
Everything she should have wanted. But it was not. She didn't want to live in a large manor that was cold and dreary. Narcissa wanted a small house that was full of love and warmth. When she married she wanted it to be out of love, not tradition.
She gets up and puts her dressing gown on, and leaves the bedroom. Narcissa walks to the nursery across the hall. She walks to the crib sitting in front of the window. Narcissa gazes at the tiny being inside. Her little Draco. If it wasn't for him Narcissa doesn't know what she would do.
She briefly wonders if she and Lily would've had a child. Unfortunately she will never know. She picks up her tiny son and holds him close to her. The tears are stronger now but they eventually subside.
She walks over to the rocking chair that sits by the window. Narcissa rocks Draco back to sleep. His stormy grey eyes become heavy, and eventually close as he goes back to sleep. Narcissa looks out the window. She can see the white peacocks roaming about the yard. The overcast sky above them.
Its almost been a month since Lily was killed. It is a day Narcissa will always remember. She remembered the sadness crushing her heart. It is only because of Draco that Narcissa stays in this world. For now Narcissa only has her dreams. Only in her dreams is it when she is reunited with her Lily again.
"I love you too Lily."
