Hey! So it's been a while huh? This is a little something that came to me about 30 minutes ago. Hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think in a review. Until next time.

Roman entered the silent apartment with a heavy heart. It had been a rough couple of days for his fiance and he was doing the best he could to support him and hold it together himself. The news of Dusty's passing wasn't shocking to say the least but that didn't make it any less painful. Dusty had been sick for a while now, having been diagnosed with stomach cancer some years ago. Roman was there through it all, first only as a friend to support Cody. He saw how much it affected his friend to watch his dad wither away from what he used to be. So Roman stuck by him offering all the support he could but eventually, it had turned into to something more, which caught the two young men by surprise. Roman wouldn't change anything for the world, though. He was grateful for the time he got to spend with the man he considered a second father. To learn from him and to be welcomed into his family with open arms when he proposed to Cody.

Walking further into the apartment, Roman had to listen carefully to determine whether or not Cody had made it back from his parents' house. At first he didn't hear anything but then a broken sob broke through the silence and simultaneously, broke Roman's heart. He didn't know what else to do for Cody besides hold him and wipe away his tears.

Cody was curled up in the middle of their bed, the curtains drawn, blocking out the setting evening sun, leaving the room in almost complete darkness. He hadn't heard Roman come home yet, so he figured he could get out at least another good cry before he had to try and put on a brave face.

So that's what he did. He cried.

And when he felt the dip in the bad and the feel of those strong, comforting arms of his fiance wrapping around him he couldn't stop, so he only cried harder. Gripping the gray t-shirt that Roman wore, tightly in his fist as the tears continued to flow.

Incoherent mumbles left Cody's mouth and Roman only caught a few of the words.

"...my dad, my dad."

"Tell me what to do for you, baby," Roman whispered. "Just tell me what you need."

Through broken sobs and a raw throat, came the reply.

"Just hold me. Please, just hold me."

"Okay babe, I can do that," Roman answered as his own tears fell silently over his cheeks.

They held onto each other and as the hours passed Cody's sobs began to die down into light sniffles. Eventually those sniffles turned into soft snores. Roman untangled himself from his sleeping fiance and stood up off of the bed, stretching his limbs. He changed his clothes and got back into bed, pulling the blanket up over them. He guided Cody's sleeping form to his and rested the younger man's head on his chest. In his sleep, Cody immediately snuggled closer.

Smoothing away the dried tear tracks from his loves face, Roman kissed Cody lightly on his forehead.

"I'm always here for you, Codes, no matter what," he whispered. "We'll get through this together, all of us."

And with that, he closed his eyes, holding onto the one he loved the most in this world. The one he will continue to hold together until he's strong enough to do it on his own.
