So I heard about this advent calendar type challenge for fanfic writes/ fan artists. Even though I am getting a horrible late start, I thought it would be fun to at least attempt it some what.
Basically like an advent calendar, you are suppose to write/draw/whatever for 25 days. I have decided that my first 12 stories/drabbles will be based on the 12 days of christmas.
This first one is the partridge and a pear tree. Didn't quite turn out as nice as I wanted it to and I feel like the ending is a bit too choppy.
Anyway just a bit of a spoiler for those who are not up to the Edolas arc yet...but not really.
And Fairy tail belongs to Mashima Hiro not me.
She bites into the yellow-green skin of the pear, its juice dribbling down her chin. She savors the sweet flesh, letting her tongue roll it in her mouth. Above her, a partridge lets out a low cry. Snow falls around her as the bird flies from a tree. She glances skyward, blue eyes glittering as she watches the partridge's reddish pink legs fade in the sky. Once it is out of sight, she returns to her pear. Her fingers and hand sticky with the juice. As she brings her hand up to delicately lick at it, she is reminded of a not so distant time.
"You're way too sticky." the ice mage claims, staring at her in a mixture of disgust and amusement. The ameonna pouts, pulling her hand away from the caramade frank.
"But this is Juvia's first time..." She isn't sure if she actually enjoys the "delicacy" or not. But Gray-sama does seem to enjoy it, she bites into it.
She smiles at the memory, her pear now nothing more than a core. Casually, she tosses the remnants into a trash bin. She giggles, slightly amused by the fact that it – like the shops and street lights around it- is decked out in christmas lights. As the snow continues to fall lightly around her and the lights twinkle all over, she can hear the low call of the partridge once more.
