"Sunset…" The girl said. "It's the most beautiful time of the day."
"Why is that?" Said the boy with the fire rat haori.
"Because when the sun hits the mountains in the horizon, it's almost like you can hear the heavens singing down on the Earth," She replied, "In a song that reaches deep down inside your soul."
"That sounds amazing." He said, "But how do you know this?"
"That," Said the girl, "I can't say."
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha! (Though I watch him when he sleeps)
The sun rose on Inuyasha and Co. the way it always does. It's warm rays sooth the wounds from their previous battle with the giant bear youkai the day before. Inuyasha, as usual, was the first one to awaken. He almost didn't sleep in a tree last night, seeing as Kagome was too worried about the wound on Inuyasha's stomach to let him, but he persuaded her in a calm voice (very unlike Inuyasha) that he was going to be fine.
He jumped out of the tree and walked over to the stream a short distance away from the camp to retrieve some fresh water for Kagome to make breakfast for the gang. He hobbled a little bit, since the wound wasn't completely healed. Kagome woke second, hearing Inuyasha walk away. She rose silently and stretched out.
She quietly stepped over Sango and Miroku, who got wounded more severely than her, and needed some extra sleep. She silently followed Inuyasha to the stream, making sure that he doesn't notice her scent. Inuyasha let the water bottle slowly fill up with water, catching leaves with his claws.
"He's so beautiful." Kagome thought to herself.
A gentle breeze carried her scent right to Inuyasha's sensitive nose. He paused and savored Kagome's sweet scent. Then he turned around to face her.
"What are you doing here, stupid?" Inuyasha asked impatiently, "You should be back at camp making sure Sango and Miroku are okay!"
"I'm sorry Inuyasha." Replied Kagome, "I just wanted to know where you went. That wound on your stomach isn't healed well enough yet."
Inuyasha sighed.
"I'm fine, Kagome. You shouldn't be worrying about me, anyway." He explained, "You should be focusing on finding the jewel shards. We don't want Naraku getting to them before we do"
Kagome nodded. She knew that she was in love with Inuyasha, but she didn't think that he was going to be such a jerk all the time. She felt small tears forming in her eyes.
'Please don't cry! Please don't cry! C'mon Kagome, whatever you do, don't cry!' she told her self.
Inuyasha caught she scent of her unfallen tears. He rushed right over to her and put a reassuring arm around her.
"It's gonna be okay, Kagome. You just watch. It's all going to be over with soon. Then who knows, we might all get what we want." He said.
Kagome nodded and dried her tears. She looked down at the rosary around Inuyasha's neck. 'Is that what he meant? Does he even care about me at all?'
Inuyasha and Kagome walked back to camp together, with Inuyasha's arm around Kagome.
How do you guys like the first chappie? I know that Kagome is a little OOC, but she won't be like that for long. (I promise) Give me some ideas for the next chapter, pleezy!
