Ron's Epic Sitch

Chapter One: The P.D.V.I.

"Come on, Ron! Aren't you even a little excited to see what my father has been working on lately?" asked Kim Possible, excitedly, as she tugged on her boyfriends shirt sleeve, while they both sat at the kitchen table of the Possible household.

"Are you sure it's not just something new to deal with black holes?" asked Ron, nervously.

"He has been down in the labs for months working on some new, top secret project. As far as I know it doesn't have anything to do with black holes. Why did you ask?" asked Kim, turning to Ron.

Ron rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Well, you know -" he began awkwardly, his eyes downcast towards his bowl of cereal, as though he wanted nothing more than to drown himself in it.

Kim rolled her eyes. She knew exactly what he was referring to. Both teens had just finished up two weeks of being grounded, a result from Ron's father walking in on the two of them up in Ron's bedroom. Clothing had been rearranged, and covers had been pulled up. Ron's father had quickly closed the bedroom door, assuring his son from the other side ,that it was a natural thing, and not to be ashamed of it. Kim and Ron had tried to explain, to no avail, that they were not doing what Gene Stoppable had assumed they were doing. Still, the phone call Kim's father had received from the Stoppable's, about possibly having "the birds and the bees" chat with their daughter had not gone over well. Kim had never seen her father both, so angry, and also at a complete loss for what to say. The chat she had later with her mother about growing up, hormones, and those kinds of things had been, if possible, even worse.

"So not the drama, Ron. We have completed our sentence and now we're free. Next time we get a little carried away, lock the door." said Kim, emphasizing the last three words, while jabbing her empty spoon in his direction.

Ron chuckled, but had the decency to look ashamed.

The subject was dropped, and both teens finished their cereal in silence as Mrs. Dr. Possible walked into the kitchen.

"Morning you two. Any plans for the day?" Ann asked while pouring herself a cup of coffee and turning to face both Kim and Ron.

"Well, with school right around the corner, Dad said he would show us whatever top secret project he has been working on at the space center." side Kim.

Ron merely smiled. Kim could tell that their previous conversation was still on his mind. She shot a kick at him from under the table.

"Yeah, we are so stoked. Just so, so, very stoked, Mrs. Dr. P." he said with a nervous laugh.

Twenty minutes found both Kim and Ron pulling into the Middleton Space Center parking lot. They walked through the black gates, up the steps the front steps and through large double doors. Once inside, Kim lead the way over to the reception desk, where a smiling blonde woman greeted them.

"Hello, Kim. Your father called up a few minutes ago. I have both of your badges here with me. I just need to scan your ID card first." said the woman.

"Sure thing, Monica." replied Kim as she pulled her identification card out of her pocket and handed it to the woman.

Monica ran Kim's identification card through a small reader. There was soft beeping noise, followed by a flashing green light, before the card slide out the opposite end. Monica handed both the identification card and the badge, baring Kim's name, and face on it to her. Ron rummaged around in his wallet before passing his over too. This time though the beeping was followed by a flashing red light. Monica frowned, and looked down at the reader.

"Um, do you have an actual identification card?" she asked, looking at Ron with raised eyebrows.

"Huh?"

Ron suddenly realized which card he had given the woman.

"Whoops, I'll just take that back." he said.

"Do you really need an honorary Fearless Ferret membership ID card, Ron?" asked Kim, sounding annoyed.

Ron did not reply, he merely handed the woman his actual identification card. The beeping noise was once again followed by a flashing green light.

"That seems to be in order! Just walk up to the doors over there and run your badges through the reader." said Monica, cheerfully as she handed Ron both cards and pointed to a set of double doors.

"Thanks. Come on, ferret boy." said Kim with a wave.

Both teens walked up and ran their badges through the reader on the wall next to the double doors.

"Possible, Kimberly. Access granted. Stoppable, Ron. Access granted."

The double doors slid open to admit them. They walked down a long, well light hallway and emerged into one of the larger laboratories. Kim could see her father, along with many other scientist busy at work. James Possible looked up from one of the many computers he was sitting around and waved to Kim, and Ron, motioning for them to come over to where he was.

"Kimberly, Ronald, how are the two of you doing?" he asked.

"Pretty good, Dad. We're just really excited to see what this big secret project of yours is." said Kim, walking around and giving her father a one armed hug.

"Any plans for the evening?"

"Ron here is all excited for some video game being released today. Once we finish up here we are swinging by Smarty Mart to pick it up." said Kim, while giving Ron a look.

"Zombie Mayhem is going to be so badical!" cheered Ron.

Kim rolled her eyes.

"Well we aren't quite ready for you just yet. You're more than welcome to hangout close by while we finish the prep work." her father explained.

"Speaking of video games, Kim, do you mind if I borrow the Kimmunicator for a minute. I wanna check and make sure that Zombie Mayhem is still in stock down at Smarty Mart." said Ron.

"Sure thing." replied Kim, pulling out her Kimmunicator and handing it over to Ron.

Ron walked over and sat down in an empty chair.

"Shouldn't have a problem picking up my copy once we leave here. I'm sure Felix is pretty stoked, too!" said Ron with a grin.

"You're not going to be playing that game all night are you?" asked Kim, walking over to wrap her arms around Ron.

"I don't know, why do you ask?"

"Well, I was thinking we could do something else. Something that might get us grounded again if we get caught." said Kim with a purr.

Ron swallowed hard and gave a nervous chuckle.

"You know me, I am all about the grounding." he said timidly.

"Kim, Ron, we are ready for you know if the two of you would kindly follow us down over here, please." called Dr. Possible.

Kim took her hands away from Ron's neck and walked over to follow her father as Ron, getting to his feet, tucked the Kimmunicator away in his back pocket. Dr. Possible led Kim, and Ron into another room. This room had no windows. Fluorescent track lights ran along the ceiling, down what looked like a long tunnel. At one end of the tunnel was –

"Dad, isn't that your old car?" asked Kim.

Sure enough, at one end of the tunnel was James Possible's old Roth SL Coupe.

"It sure is." said Dr. Possible, proudly.

But it wasn't, not completely. Kim remembered what the Sloth looked like back home in the garage collecting dust, and rusting over. From the looks of it her father, and his team, had given the car a complete science makeover.

"Well, the team and I started preforming tests, and research on the Pan Dimensional Vortex Inducer, or P.D.V.I. for short." began Dr. Possible.

"Isn't that a bit dangerous? Doesn't that thing create, like, some kind of chaotic vortex that could effectively wipe out an entire state, or something? asked Kim in a concerned voice.

"Yes, and no." said Dr. Possible.

"When we first brought in the P.D.V.I. it could achieve have something like that if it were to fall into the wrong hands." said Dr. Chen.

Both Kim, and Ron looked at each other with a frown on their face.

"We reverse engineered the P.D.V.I. so that the field in which it will operate in is much smaller. What is is capable of now is merely disrupting the fabric of reality in a way that with allow the Sloth to travel freely through it. Once the Roth SL Coupe reaches a target speed of eighty-eight miles per hour it will cause the P.D.V.I. To tear apart the fabric of reality before it. The Coupe will pass through it and the tear will close up behind it. It's kind of like opening and closing a door." said Dr. Chen.

Kim's mouth fell open as she started to realize what he was talking about. Ron on the other hand still looked clueless.

"You mean to tell me that you turned my father's beat up old rust bucket into a time machine?" asked Kim.

"YOU BUILT A TIME MACHINE OUT OF A SLOTH?! BADICAL!" yelled Ron with a whoop of laughter.

"Well we are hoping that it will work as one. If it works like we think it will then, yes it would act as a time machine. We have managed to send the car through time and have it return in one piece. But when we did that we merely sent it a minute into the future. You would not believe the kind of raw energy that is required to even attempt this." said Dr. Possible.

"And how did you do that?" asked Kim.

"Come over here and I'll show you." said Dr. Possible motioning to a few computers.

"All we have to is type in a date into the targeting computer. This will upload it into the targeting computer we installed into the dash of the Roth SL Coupe. With everything we have put into her, you can operate the car from the home computer or here, manually." said Dr. Possible, getting to his feet and hurrying over to the Sloth.

He opened the door, giving Kim, and Ron a chance to peer around inside.

Many buttons and dials had been added to the dashboard.

"If you want to punch in manually, you can do so from the keyboard there." said Dr. Possible pointing.

Kim noticed that a previous date had been punched into the targeting computer.

01.18.1977

Kim turned around to look at her father.

"What happened back in 1977?" she asked, curiously.

James eyes seemed to twinkle as his lips broke into a smile.

"That, Kimmie Cub, is the year I met your mother. Your Nana had just dropped me off at college, see. I was a late transfer student where I studied at Upperton University for a year before finishing my degree and graduating from the Middleton Institute of Science and Technology." finished James.

"I remember that year!" pipped up Dr. Ramesh.

Kim turned to Dr. Possible's colleague.

"Dr. Chen and I were students at Middleton Institute. We met your father at one of Upperton University's football games. This was before he transferred to Middleton Institute of course." said Dr. Ramesh.

"Remember the championship game?" asked Dr. Chen.

"You mean where Tim North scored the game winning touchdown as time expired, right before the scoreboard was struck by lightening?" asked Dr. Ramesh excitedly.

"The Fearless Ferret went to college with both of you?" asked Ron, his eyes wide.

"Who?" asked Dr. Chen looking confused.

"No, Ronald. He was one of our star football players. He came to Upperton University about the same time I did as a late transfer student. He was a breakout player. He only played in three games, but you would not believe all the records he broke as a running back. He earned the name Tim "Unstoppable" North. The crazy thing is that he vanished right after scoring the winning touchdown. Nobody knows where he went, or what became of him. But enough about old college legends, lets put this baby to the test!" said Dr. Possible.

The group walked back over to the jumble of computers. The lights dimmed as Dr. Possible sat down in front of a keyboard. Both Kim and Ron watched as he entered in a new date into the targeting computer.

"Power is steady and capacitors are fully charged." said Dr. Chen.

"Good." said Dr. Possible.

"From here we use an electromagnet that will help launch the Roth SL Coup. Without it we would have needed a much longer tunnel for the old girl to reach eighty-eight miles per hour." chuckled Dr. Possible.

"We are go!" yelled Dr. Ramesh.

James bent forward and punched in something on the keyboard.

All of a sudden the Sloth roared to life, startling Ron, who then fell forward, bumped into one of the lab assistance's causing her to spill her morning coffee. Ron landed hard on the floor. The coffee mug landed on the table sending hot coffee everywhere. A loud hissing noise filled the room as the coffee hit the computers. Smoke began to spew forth and fill the room. Bright blue sparks danced across the computers. Ron quickly rolled away from them, in the direction of the Sloth, to avoid being burned. A power surge flew through the computer equipment. Kim looked down at the targeting computer to see numbers flashing across the screen.

"What happened?" yelled Dr. Possible.

"A power spike has effected the targeting computer. It's trying to narrow in on a date." yelled Dr. Ramesh in a worried voice.

The rumbling from the Sloth grew to a roar.

"The electromagnet is getting ready to propel the Coupe forward! Ron, get over here now. You're not suppose to be that close to it when it goes off!" ordered Dr. Possible.

There was another power spike as Kim screamed. The computer began flashing red.

"It's locked in on a date! Ron, get over here, NOW!" screamed Dr. Possible.

There was a loud boom as the electromagnet was released. Everyone watched as the Sloth was propelled forward. More blue sparks began to appear, this time around the noise of the Sloth as it shot forward like a bullet. White hot light began to glow at the end of the tunnel as the Sloth sped down the track.

"Uh-oh." said Ron.

He could feel himself start to lift up off the floor. He tired desperately to find something to hold onto but it was to no avail.

"RON!" screamed Kim as she tried to run forward.

"KIMMIE, NO!" bellowed her father, running forward and grabbing his daughter around the waist, pulling her back, away from harms way.

"Kim!" Ron yelled.

He could feel his body being slowly sucked down the tunnel. Then with a loud bang he felt as though a hook had wrapped itself around his legs and dragged him off, down the tunnel. Bright blue energy seemed to envelope Ron as the Sloth disappeared into nothingness. There was a small explosion before the room was plunged into darkness as the track lights overhead shattered.

"Is everyone okay?"

"Nobody move. The backup generators should kick in any moment."

Kim's heart was pounding.

A few seconds went by.

Backup lights flickered and came on.

"Ron?" Kim called out in a scared voice.

Kim looked around, turning her head frantically. Both Ron, and the Sloth were gone.

"RON!" cried Kim as tears began to pour down her cheeks.

"Will someone please tell me what in the world just happened. Where is Ronald?" demanded Dr. Possible.

"During the first power spike it appears that the targeting computer locked in on a different date than the one you originally put it." said Dr. Chen.

"You mean to tell me that both Ronald, and the P.D.V.I. were not sent ahead one hour? Where in the hell did they get sent to then?" asked Dr. Possible angrily, hurrying over and looking at his computer.

"Oh no."

Kim ran up behind her father and looked at the date on the computer screen.

01.18.1977

The numbers, flashing bright red, seemed to burn into the back of Kim's eyes. She looked away wiping tears away as she did so. How could this have happened? All around Kim, people were running about, putting out fires, while her father shouted a lot, and ordered people around. Kim turned back to the tunnel, where both Ron, and the Sloth has shot off into the past. She noticed something laying on the ground. Walking slowly up to it, Kim noticed that it was both Ron's ID card, and his badge. She turned to her father.

"You stopped me. I could have saved him!" she yelled.

"Sweetie, now is not the time for this." her father said.

"Is he even-"

Kim closed her mouth, holding both cards close to her chest. She did not want to think about that right now. She closed her eyes and started to cry deeper. Then a thought struck her.

"Ron is with the Sloth, though. Why can't he just punch in today's date and time and travel back to us?" asked Kim.

It sounded so easy. So simple. She quickly turned around back towards the tunnel expecting to hear the roar of the Sloth as it came to a sudden, screeching, stop. Ron would get out and run up to her, hugging and kissing her. But the seconds ticked by. Ron, nor the Sloth appeared.

"Like your father said, Kim. It takes so much raw energy to run the P.D.V.I. The Roth SL Coupe is good for one launch before it needs to be recharged. The only thing on earth that could match that would be a bolt of lightening." said Dr. Chen.

"The Kimmunicator!" Kim yelled.

"What do you mean?" asked her father.

"Ron had the Kimmunicator on him. If I can get in touch with Wade we can track his signal, can't we?" asked Kim in a pleading voice..

It was a long shot, but it was the only thing they could try.

"I want someone getting in touch with that boy now! If we can piggyback a signal to the Kimmunicator we might be able to reach Ron. Help him figure out a way out of this mess." said Dr. Possible.

"If it does work we would only be able to send small amounts of information to Ron. The carrier wave can not handle a lot of traffic. Ron might not even be able to contact us. If we overload the system we could lose his signal, along with anyway of helping him get back to the present." said Dr. Chen.

"Alright, lets hop to it people. Right now I have to go make a few phone calls. I have to call the Stoppable's and tell them what has happened. Then I need to get in touch with Wade. Kim I need you to call Global Justice. Maybe they can help us out." began Dr. Possible.

Ron felt as though someone had stuffed him feet first into a drier, and then had it turned on. Next thing he knew he landed one something hard. Little stars popped before his eyes as he tried to sit up. It was daylight out, where ever he was. He blink in the bright sunlight, and felt cool air on his face. He rolled over and got to his feet, looking around. He spotted the Sloth about twenty feet away. Ron broke out into a run, heading towards the vehicle.

"Stop right there!" yelled a voice.

Ron froze.

He knew that voice.

"Put your hands in the air, now, and turn around slowly." said the voice, firmly.

Ron gulped and did as he was told.

Before him stood Mr. Barkin in a police uniform with a pistol pointed directly at Ron's chest.

:END:

Author's Notes: Well, it seems like Ron has gotten himself into a bit of a pickle and is now lost in the past. I got the idea for this story while finally watching Back To The Future Part 2 in one sitting from start to finish. Anytime there has been trouble for our hero's, they always have each other to fall back on. Not this time though. Ron is going to have to tough it out. Who will he meet along the way? Stay tuned for the next chapter and find out! If you enjoyed this chapter I would love it if you could leave a review. Until next time.

Peace Out
